Shakira - Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran

Her lack of UK push has always been a damn mess. I don't know anyone here who isn't positive about her catalogue and yet so little push

It's not in English and the Hispanic community here is nowhere near big enough to make it a success in silo.

(That said, Don't Wait Up only reached the heady heights of #95, so yeah, she might need to consider re-shuffling her team)

What do you mean? I’m surprised she’s not a priority for Sony in the UK.

Sony UK is literally 6-7 people running everything, so there's no UK Shakira team. And I doubt she has a team or anyone overseeing how she does in other countries to orchestrate promo etc. Those days are gone.

It goes back further than that. I remember them totally ignoring La Tortura/Fijación Oral, pushing Don't Bother as soon as it was ready, then its release being repeatedly delayed by the main label to let the Spanish material continue smashing internationally, leading to it still underperforming in the one territory where it wasn't overshadowed by La Tortura.

#1 in Spain with nearly 4 million streams!!!
#6 in the US with nearly 1 million!
The Uk as per usual missing, but at least it made the t200 on Spotify-

I’ve been playing this so much and forcing my friends to listen as I translate the key draggings for them so I’m largely responsible for that top 200 debut. There were articles about the song on BBC News and The Guardian so there is definitely some interest here.

She's serving M3GAN in this Guardian piece - is there anything she can't do!

A Shakira song in Spanish with a title that sounds like something only a megastan would stream and that even I, a relatively big fan in the UK, would probably have skipped over had I not been reading this thread for context... yeah this was not destined to do well in the UK.
