Kirsty Wark deserved to be snapped at for asking Sheena how much she was worth. Nobody’s going to answer that question. Sheena should have given her a slap!

I loved her response. It wasn’t overly cutting but allowed her to make her point whilst letting her personality come through. Kirsty Wark handled it well too.

I remember an interview Sheena did with Esther Rantzen on a show called One To One. It was around the time of What Comes Naturally. Very good interview and IIRC, Sheena snapped at Esther for asking her daft questions! Can’t find this on YouTube but it’s well worth watching if you can source it. Sheena looked great too.

Thanks for posting that interview. I thought it was rude not only to ask how much she made, but to make that comment that she looks "rather casual". I like that Sheena stood up for herself and didn't put up with the interviewer's rudeness. Just my take.

I've got this version. One of the bonus tracks, a cover of Teena Marie's 'I Need Your Lovin', sounds a bit like a demo to me - a bit muffled.

I didn’t know there was a version with extra tracks! I was cheap - got the lowest priced version to test the grounds... it’ll be upgraded if I truly loved it. And yes, I’ll share my thoughts! Thank you again!

Those One Way reissues are almost impossible to find. I remember seeing them in a record shop here in Toronto but didn't want to pay the prices but didn't realize how much they would eventually go for.

I used to have it, Tommy, but alas I was broke about 8/9 years ago and had to sell it (I did get a very good price, way more than I paid). It was a good reissue - I have a rip somewhere. As with all of the One Way releases, it was rather basic in terms of artwork but the songs sounded good and it included a nice selection of mixes and the b-sides. I only have the original vinyl now which I found for a few quid in a local record store many years ago which serves me well at the moment. I wonder what these new Cherry Red versions will be like.

I’m hoping the Cherry Red releases will be at least as good as the Kim Wilde ones they did this year. Edsel did a twofer CD of A Private Heaven that had some bonus tracks a few years ago. This was actually nicely put together, but of course is long OOP now.

My favourite CD of APH is the early U.K. EMI one. No bonus tracks, but full artwork and nice SQ. If you like that quieter more dynamic sound CDs used to have.

So. The cd arrived and I finally had a chance to listen to it. I have to admit, it’s a frustrating listen because I can’t help but think about what it could have been. There were some nice production flourishes here and there, but the standard G-A-Y/Heaven vibe became monotonous very quickly. She sounds good though, except on The Best of My Love, which didn’t quite suit her. I was surprised about that. That’s What Friends Are For was a pleasant surprise, but On My Own didn’t work. And you’re right, the last two songs were classier. Thank you again for talking me into this. I’m now all set for her reissues!

I think that's a pretty fair review and it sounds like you enjoyed some of it.

I just came across this web site from 2001 which includes lots of chart facts about the album, but also some comments, including one from Terry Ronald who produced the album and duetted with Sheena on 'On My own'...

Good to have more Sheena on streaming but I'd much rather have What Comes Naturally and Fabulous than those two!
