Sky Ferreira - "Don't Forget" + General Discussion

No shade but.. is there any use of doing live dates with no material out? The "fuck capitol records" message doesn't exactly give hope to there being any changes happening either.

Probably some $$ if she's still fighting with label and finishing the album? I think there's still some demand\people who never saw her and would enjoy it... even after the Festival Season last year dd.

I can never give up on her. Like. She's probably my favourite musician. And seeing her live at that iconic Primavera set while off my tits on ADHD meds and kindly adopted by @Lost In Japan and a bunch of iconic PJ'ers after my mates ditched Sky in favour of vegan Mexican restaurant (we didn't speak for over 24 hours) was a moment I'll never forget.

I… still can’t believe that set went down the way it did tbh

Three California shows: SF July 6, San Diego July 7, and LA July 8. Seriously debating whether or not it's worth it without new material in the last 10 years teebs. Her festival performances haven't inspired much confidence in her showing up on time or performing that long.

I want to go to the LA show for my/her birthday... So tempted! The last time she did this was the Hollywood Bowl show with Garbage and Blondie which I sadly passed on too.

If she performs anything like she did at the Southbank show last year then absolutely yes, even if she was an hour late. Below is a little vinyl video I made with some footage of the show. Still in my top shows of all time teebs.

I got a "ticket" but I can't imagine how messy this will be... Cancers on their birthdays... a scary thing to experience. Maybe I didn’t get the ticket, but the presale code. This is so confusing. Seems very on brand.

Of course Sky herself has only mentioned the LA show on her Instagram account.
Yes that is strange. I only found out about it because I follow the venue on Instagram. It’s a fairly large venue. I wonder if she can sell that out. Most of the artists I’ve seen there are more established. I don’t know if I should buy tickets. Is this likely to get canceled?

I don't really have any desire to see her live again if it's just gonna be the same songs from 10 years ago. These look like warmup shows and not a proper tour anyway so I doubt something concrete's coming.

Tickets are $52. She better show up on time... Though July 8th has always been a cursed day to have a birthday, so I wouldn't be shocked if it goes off the rails at any point!

It would probably never happen after the European tour fiasco but I'd love her to do some more UK dates. I don't think she's ever done a headline show in Glasgow before and I would absolutely live to see what that would unravel as in real-time.

Plus, despite the bad press she got and the social media ridicule (some of which was justified as she didn't exactly exude professionalism) people still seemed to be really rooting for her, at least it felt like that at Primavera, and the press reviews for the London show were actually all great so I think that she could still turn things around, if these shows go to plan.

That being said I do worry if those shennagins last summer burned any bridges, and if she as she alleges Capitol pulled her touring fund last minute (which seems like an especially dick move but then they are literally evil so who knows) they essentially set her to up fail.

If Lauryn Hill can still get booked to tour Miseducation every few years then I don't see why I can't see Sky at the Night Time, My Time Anniversary tour.
