Sky's proper gone in on her label on Twitter - alleging that they've recycled her video treatments and other ideas for another artist, and that they'd voiced concerns about her album sales despite not supporting Night Time, My Time in any meaningful way (other than to release it). There's a distinct air of "I've just been dropped" about her comments... I hope this doesn't delay her second album too much.

There's a film called Mistress America with music by Sky Ferreira premiering in August during Sundance. Perhaps this is the film Sky shot with Grant Singer; a Tropico of sorts?

Did she already delete it? Theres nothing there about her label.

Yes, but it stayed up for a while before she deleted it. I think she posted it all last night, and I saw it this morning.

I thought it was interesting that she mentioned the label wanted a fresh start with her - I assumed based on the context that she meant someone made an attempt to repair their working relationship, but what if it also meant trying to get her to rebrand again?

She apparently favorited a troll tweet that said "drag halsey" last night, which is where the speculation came from, but it's long gone now.

She wants out, probably.

They had no interest in supporting her ever, really. She paid for the mastering and mixing. She helped fund most of the recording. Her debut only came out cause she could afford to put it out. She was fully expecting to be dropped and was going to be until the critical reviews came in and her label decided to throw some money her way for the I Blame Myself video.

I imagine part of that is why the Jon Brion original title-track was dropped last minute cause it was cheaper to just pay Ariel and Justin's fees and not Jon and others' production costs.

It's a shame cause now I doubt they'll ever let her go, yet won't hesitate to ruin and get in the way of the creative process as much as possible.
