Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time

Due out in Summer 2013 is Sky's long awaited debut album, Night Time, My Time. Roughly half of the album is uptempo pop, while the other is stripped down Jon Brion stuff. Everything Is Embarrassing, from Ghost, will be on the album, while the lead single is You're Not The One. Producers confirmed so far are Jon Brion, Greg Kurstin and Ariel Rechtshaid. If anyone has any more details please post them and I'll update this original post.

EDIT: The title has been changed for the thread to discuss the album.

I'm predicting at least another 2 changes of title before it gets released.

Wild at Heart was a better album title.

And I'm not going to hold my breath on this coming to fruition.

Being a stan for Sky is so very frustrating. I was really underwhelmed by the Ghost EP, so I'm hoping when/if this does happen, it'll get me back on with her.

It really was much better.

I'm definitely going to have to approach this album with a 'believe it when I see it' state of mind this time around. Continuously getting my hopes up has gotten old. Basically, we just need a 'Sky Ferreira's ever-moving album' thread.

This album could really go either way. She's talented but I don't feel like she has found her musical identity just yet.
I hope she will while recording this album.

I literally just got into Sky a few minutes ago, and I've already been planning our illustrious life together. Gutted to hear she's of the Sophie Ellis Bextor mould when it comes to releases.

Well, I'm hopeful. The Ghost EP is lovely and she's been getting very nice notices for her CMJ showcases, so maybe she can grab onto that little bit of momentum and find herself releasing the album somehow.

The album is finished and her musical identity is fairly New Wave. Obviously the EP is quite diverse, and I think the fact it is only a five track EP makes it all the more obvious, whereas the album will have more tracks to thread the various influences through.

I've been cobbling the Ghost EP together via Youtube since it's not on Irish iTunes yet, and I adore Sad Dream and the title track. And Everything Is Embarrassing, "obvs". Seriously impressed. Any recommendations?

If you've got a friend in the US they can gift you the EP, you just have to use their iTunes ID to log in and accept it.

I'd recommend her other EP, As If!, which is more electropop , and One. I'd give 17 and Obsession a miss personally, I think they're crap.

Told'cha Lost In My Bedroom and Red Lips would be on the album. Thank God that dreadful new single of hers isn't on it. More Greg Kurstin hopefully means more alternative-pop. Or songs like Sex Rules. Would LOVE that!

They were both announced as album tracks absolutely ages ago.You're the only one calling Everythif Is Embarrassing dreadful, so that's not the general consensus. Considering this is the album thread and not the EP one, can't you drop it?
