Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time

She was great when I saw her for multiple shows back in fall 2012 for CMJ, and I've always heard positive things about her live act until the months before NTMT... I think this whole anti-pop star mindset she has is being taken a little too far.

Or, y'know, maybe it's at least somewhat difficult to recover from repeated vocal injuries, especially when your album has just come out and demands that you actually perform to support it.

It was a free gig.

So are iTunes Festival ones and every one I've been to has been amazing. She's taking this 'too cool to care' attitude wayy too far and it's irritating. Thank God I didn't try and get tickets especially when it would have been a struggle to get there. Step it up, Sky!

I only caught the last five minutes of her interview. Annie's Sunday show is basically her playing chilled out tracks where her guests pick tracks as a "bedtime mix" for a Sunday evening. Sky was just explaining her choices; sounded typically awkward and self-conscious. Looking at the site, her choices were:

Cass McCombs - Brighter
Elliot Smith - Alameda
Spiritualized - Broken Heart

It'll be on iPlayer tomorrow. Like I said, I only caught the last bit, so I don't know how long she spoke her. Can't seem to see any of her own tracks on the playlist for the show either, and it does live updates.

I'm always surprised that a lot of people put on music to fall asleep to. If I'd put on any Sky Ferreira track I just wouldn't be able to catch a sleep at all. I really need silence to sleep.

Really energetic dance music actually helps me sleep. Can't tell you how many times I've jolted awake with some crazy dance tune in my ears, though.

Hah, I remember when Sky was on the radio around the time of the UK release of Everything Is Embarrassing, and the song she had them play at the end of the interview was... something by DIIV.
