  1. My knowledge doesn't go that deep with Lang I'm afraid - my familiarity with "The Happy Man" is driven off a few plays on Radio 1 (One FM by this point?) in 1988, when it scraped into the lower reaches of the top 75.

    I daresay somebody around here will have chapter and verse!

  3. Best move. I've got them all, and the first two are sublime. Great sound, typical high-quality CBS/Epic productions.

    The deluxe of Scallywag Jaz is great too. I discovered him when he supported Suzanne Vega on her 1987 tour. Amazing voice.

  4. Happy Man got two bites at the chart cherry, but deserved to do much better. Both versions are lovely, I use the 88 remix sometimes for playlists but stuck to the original for your compilation.
