  3. Found out about her thanks to her conversation with Liz Phair. I'm obsessed with "Heatwave" and its mesmerizing guitar chords. I have a soft spot for alternate guitar tunings in indie rock, and with her lovely voice on top of that, I'm instantly sold.

  5. I'm really trying with this but I'm kinda over whiny, mumbly and sad white American women singing lo-fi indie rock? The songs bleed into one another for me. I intend to revisit this in a few months but it's not grabbing me at the moment.
  6. I like this because it’s not as mumbly. I get what you’re saying, though. There’s not really innovation here but I love the way she stitches melodies together.

    If 2018 has taught us anything, it's that women's dominance of rock music isn't a trend – it's the new normal. Criticism has to reflect that.

    She's interviewed for this article pointing out an issue that has been prevalent in rock music for so long. Worth reading.
