#soon! Part Un - The 60s-00s Girl Band Debut Breakthrough Rate

He/Him
So far my main criteria are that the signature number has to be a single, and that we didn't already rate the song in part 1. Trying to also avoid using a number that features a whole heap in rates for each group so as to have a fairly 'fresh' list for us all. Stay tuned for a little preview and potentially some pointers from the audience in picking 'the one' between a couple of numbers for the more popular bands #soon!

And are all the girls groups the same? Or are you adding/getting rid of some?

Let's start the previews with the 00s list and work backwards. These are the numbers I am thinking (reasons provided in brackets), feel free to chime in!

'00s

Dixie ChicksNot Ready To Make Nice (Their strongest number as far as I am concerned) or Landslide (Their biggest hit, from a worldwide perspective - a cover though!)

Sugababes - Run For Cover (If keeping the same line-up), Push The Button (if looking at major worldwide hit), About A Girl (for the kii but not really), Flatline (would consider as a return of the original trio)

Bardot - A.S.A.P (Their only real shot I have to say), otherwise These Days

Mis-Teeq - Scandalous (Features in a lot of rates though) so maybe One Night Stand

Girls Aloud - Untouchable is IT for me but I'd have to use the Single Mix to be consistent and that is crap! Biology has been rated ad nauseum so not wanting it there. My picks are between The Promise (Huge Hit!), No Good Advice (Great Track), The Show (Boppy Goodness)

Las Ketchup - Kusha Las Payas (They don't have anything else that qualifies)

t.A.T.u. - Not Gonna Get Us (Their only other substantial hit worldwide that wasnt a divisive cover)

The Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up is my favourite by them but it gets rated a lot! Buttons won their discography rate so is probably a bit over-exposed too. I Don't Need A Man may be their most 'empowering' of what's left?

The Veronicas - Hook Me Up was a moment for them so to give them a fair shot, that's the one!

Booty Luv - Some Kind Of Rush (excellent and should do well for them)

Danity KaneDamaged (The fairest pick, let's be honest)

The Saturdays - Up or All Fired Up (Which one is a better representation, you tell me!)

Is it gonna be the signature song then or just random picks? I think the former makes way more sense.

Sugababes- Run For Cover is my favourite song by them but it's not even in the top 10 for signature songs. That's a choice between Push the Button/About You Now.
Mis-teeq- Has to be Scandalous even though One Night Stand is incredible.
Girls Aloud- Their most popular/well known songs are The Promise/Love Machine
PCD- I loooove I Don't Need a Man but I doubt many remember it outside their fanbase. Their signature hit is Don't Cha, then Buttons.
The Veronicas- Their biggest hit by far is Untouched and would also give them a better shot than Hook Me Up.
The Saturdays- If it's just between those 2 then Up is the only option.

These are all very good points! Is there a place online where I can check each act's most successful singles? That might take any 'ifs' out of the equation!

Okay Cool - Had a quick look at certifications and the list would be:

Dixie Chicks – Not Ready To Make Nice

Sugababes -Push The Button

Bardot - A.S.A.P

Mis-Teeq - Scandalous

Girls Aloud - The Promise

Las Ketchup - Kusha Las Payas

t.A.T.u. - Not Gonna Get Us

The Pussycat Dolls - Jai Ho (or Buttons)

The Veronicas - Untouched

Booty Luv - Shine

Danity Kane – Damaged

The Saturdays - What About Us

Please don't choose The Promise to represent Girls Aloud. Even though it got to #1 Love Machine is more iconic.
Same goes for What About Us?, it was #1 but Higher or All Fired Up are signature for them.

Please also consider sales as these other picks could have sold more I think. Are you also considering how they performed in each of your prime territories UK, USA & A?

Could another rule be that it is not a cover
