I haven’t loved the song so far but the video - which is fantastic - has really elevated it for me. When she dances with the ribbon… perfection!

Ah that video is great. I wish the lyrics had some more bite but otherwise this is a fun return for Sophie.
Wish I had something substantive to add in the realm of critique and discussion but honestly I'm thrilled to have more than I could've ever hoped for -- disco banger, her finally having her moment culturally, finding an international and specifically American audience that isn't just me, Nunya B, and the 3 other lunatics adoring her from remote corners of North America, her pronunciation of the word "healin'", a music video with her literally assaulting children. I have it all.
She played the long game in a way that is 100% her, uncompromised and organically and totally without pathetic corporate trend chasing or embarrassing failed c-list nostalgia baiting, being her spectacularly weird self. Every obscure minor Russian chart placement, every Tesco bag cap led to this moment. Kaushik is owed an OBE.

I was thinking that Sophie would be a good choice for the BBC 1 NYE show. A mix of Kitchen Disco covers and her own hits would make a good party show, plus she has the BBC connection with her show on Radio 2. Fingers crossed it will happen one year. Would be good timing to sell the album and tour tickets if it was this year, and a good way of rounding off the year after the surprising turn of events from January. Maybe wishing thinking though

Sophie loves concept music videos - it's pretty obvious at this point. I'm incredibly happy that she had a bigger budget for this music video.
I love the callback to Murder - it's done very tastefully. The casting is great, her outfits are great. Sophie's plays the controlling / unhinged character so well! I can't believe she hasn't done any major acting so far - she really should! I also feel like this character has subtle hints of the characters she played in Hypnotized and Catch You (both of which were STUNNING music videos as well).
The part with the electric guitar - my god, she is FIERCE! Loved her dancing with the ribbon. She is a stunning creature and she owns it like its nobody else's business. And that dress - wow!
Also, the judge from Murder making a comeback in this music video was genius - kudos to Sophie Muller and her team for pulling off this successful music video. I genuinely wish Sophie has a big budget for music videos in this era.
EDIT - No more holiday music videos, unless it includes a concept like Today The Sun's On Us / Catch You / Love Is A Camera.
EDIT 2 - Such a shame that all the music videos from the Trilogy did not have this budget.

Absolutely perfect video! Her Murder character 20 years later (though looking like it was 20 days after - does she age????), the casting of her daughter looking exactly like a mini Sophie. The judge back! Everything about it is fun and brilliant!
The song is great. I enjoy it. Not quite up there with Murder and Heartbreak. But a great fun song that hopefully might get some rotation at Christmas parties.
