Sophie Ellis-Bextor - "Freedom of the Night" + The Invisible Line (TBD)

One thing I always really liked about Sophie at least in more recent years she's not afraid to be without make up or show herself unstyled, wich makes here very relatable and even more adorable etc. wich is quite a rare thing, considering the industry she's working in.

I mean... she does have one of the most gorgeous faces. But yes, its always nice to see natural beauty.

Absolutely, she does without a doubt, she has the features and she has those stunningly, striking eyes and when she wears all this makeup and she's all glamed up, it stands out and you can't unsee her shining even more.

Really liking this. The verse is weak, but the chorus is bulletproof and the instrumental break near the end is fab!

We've heard majority of the song on YouTube already. My thoughts after the first listen:

1. The transition from the second verse to the bridge will probably take a few more listens to get used to. It feels like there should have been something just before the bridge that was cut for the radio? I really wish this is the case, as the song could definitely use a 4-minute extended edit.

2. Murder On The Dancefloor is definitely the blueprint for the electric guitar in the middle-8. And it works SO BLOODY WELL!

3. I'd say this is closer to the singles from Read My Lips than Trip The Light Fantastic. Anyone who loves Get Over You and Murder On The Dancefloor (and Me And My Imagination) will eat this up. This is nu-disco.

4. That chorus is everything! Like Heartbreak, they've cut the last chorus halfway... they should have let it repeat one more time. I feel like they cut it short to stick to the 3:12 play time. The song can definitely be 40 seconds longer.

I kind of felt like the Hypnotized video was already a continuation of the Murder video, but I'll take this woman on a dance floor anytime!

I'm looking forward to the hearing "the musical equivalent of shoulder pads."

Really enjoying the single. I can hear a Hung Up bassline in there and that amazing and unexpected guitar solo takes the track to next level. It’s like Sophie is entering her Kylie DISCO era. I didn’t enjoy her last 3 albums much (a few mixes aside) so welcome this return to dance pop. She is a wonderful pop star and this is a nice opening to a new album era!

It's good. The verses are great and sound straight from Trip but the chorus falls a bit flat for me. It sounds too much like an advert jingle, which yeah it kind of is, but that ends up leaving it a bit plain.
