Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Hana

The thing about Sophie’s music is - whatever she does, whether it’s indie rock, Russian folk, EDM, trance, orchestral music, disco pop - it all sounds distinctly Sophie! So, despite my initial reservations (when I looked up Wuh Oh and Sega Bodega’s music), I have a feeling this will end up sounding good. Also, it is nice that she’s exploring new sounds.

All that said, I’m quite confused with Hypnotised. If it’s not an Ed Harcourt produced song, is it a collaborative release with Wuh Oh and Sega? Or is it just a non-album single that she’s putting out there, because the album is taking longer than expected? Or did she actually invite more people to produce the album with Ed?

Like you said I believe Hypnotized is going to be a standalone single affair released between the KD tour and a new era.

If the studio version sounds as good as the live version then we are in for a treat. I would be more than happy if this is the sound she's going with for the new album.

I just wish it is at least 30 seconds longer. The live performance seems to be at/under the 3 minute mark.

This album is a real mix.. there’s some four on the floor, some pop, some prog, some synth and a song about aliens coming to rescue us.
