BBC bosses 'want Sophie Ellis-Bextor to represent UK at Eurovision 2024 as she's an ideal fit'
A music industry source told the MailOnline: “At the moment there is only one artist on the BBC's list for Eurovision 2024, and they don't intend to add to it.
“Sophie Ellis-Bextor is seen as the ideal fit for the contest – she's a great singer and performer, and she is already known to audiences, both straight and gay, across Europe.
This is so random but with the right song I think she would have a chance for a great result? She has lovely stage presence and definitely can sing, I can picture the performance in my mind.
But the song has to be bombastic, top-notch production, perhaps keep Ed Harcourt far away from this one.

I wouldn't attach any weight to this so early in the process, but I can see her being a good fit and I don't think it would hurt her brand even if she didn't do terribly well. Plus we know she can sing live.

I can’t believe the album Is out next week. Seems to be very little build up to it.
She's still promoting the Kitchen Disco brand - she was in Guadalajara recently. She's still got some Kitchen Disco promo lined up for later this year.
I hope Hana gets her time in the sun. So far, we have got 3 fantastic songs. I'm very much looking forward to the Until The Wheels Fall Off, which is supposed to be single #3. I thought it was going to be released before the album, but I guess it will be the final single then?
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's Sophie Muller. Now for all of the shit she gets doing videos for others I think the ones she's done for Bex in the past decade have largely been just downright boring, there's really no budget so it's just beautiful glamor shots and that's it. Truly a case of...
Yeah, this all feels a little like an 'add-on' to what she's already doing rather than it's own separate era. I'm still really disinterested in it all but will still give the album a listen.
