I feel like this comes around every year and annually she politely declines publicly in interviews , I just don’t think she has any interest in that sort of competition set up at this point in her life/career. However she’s clearly a huge fan of the contest and I’d be surprised if she hasn’t been approached at some point before. But if they stick with the current trajectory of UK entries I can’t see Sophie really fitting into that. Mae Muller may have flopped in the contest but she’s having a sizeable hit off it and they really want Eurovision to become relevant to a new generation, which it seems to be. Not sure Sophie, as iconic as she clearly is, is that artist. However, with the right song who knows?BBC bosses 'want Sophie Ellis-Bextor to represent UK at Eurovision 2024 as she's an ideal fit'
A music industry source told the MailOnline: “At the moment there is only one artist on the BBC's list for Eurovision 2024, and they don't intend to add to it.
“Sophie Ellis-Bextor is seen as the ideal fit for the contest – she's a great singer and performer, and she is already known to audiences, both straight and gay, across Europe.
The video is out now:
Sophie looks absolutely gorgeous. No credits though, so maybe it is not another Muller video?
I'm just thinking how cool Eurovision would have been this year if Sophie was our entry with Hypnotized.
Yeah, 'Hypnotized' is the kind of song she should do, if she wanted to aim for a top 10 placement.
She confirmed it was Sophie Muller. She's so stunning it's unreal. I liked the full colour shots much more than the black and white, wish we got more of them. Do we know this wasn't just Richard with his iPhone?
How I feel about this whole era.a bit lacklustre and genuinely feels like something is missing.
I knew the quirkiest song would be her favourite on the album. She said "We've Been Watching You" and "Until The Wheels Fall Off" are her favourites. The latter is about her late stepfather (and in fact directly picks words from a letter he wrote). I guess I understand why she wanted this to be a single then.
There was a bit where she spoke about an unreleased song - a song about a heist. I think she's talking about Love Heist but it could also be a song that she's written for this album that didn't make the cut. I hope someone can get her to release that finished version of Love Heist (that was used at some random fashion show - what a way to waste a perfectly good song)
It made me genuinely happy that she's a fan of Dear Jimmy. It should have been on the album. What were you thinking, Sophie?
That bit about the "I blame Ed Harcourt" t-shirt was HILARIOUS! I think 99% of the fans here will happily buy that and wear it to her gigs.
