Spice Girls

Spice Girl
I sang Wannabe at karaoke last night and it went down a storm.

I do think Who Do You Think You Are is their best song though.
Spice Girl songs at Karaoke are my go to songs to sing, and yeah, likewise, they always go down a treat.

My go to Spice karaoke tracks are ‘Stop’, ‘Say You’ll Be There’ and ‘Viva Forever’, where I mostly channel my inner Emma B and Vicky B. Sexy singing times indeed!

Nn, I forgot that UK Mother’s Day isn’t in May but lemme still post what I was gonna say: “Mama” being left out when it could’ve been May (aka Mother’s Day Month*) is a choice.

Oh my word this was 25 years ago today. I can still relive the excitement and anticipation in my mind of the moment on this cover that never happened.

How much has changed in that time.

By the way Geri emerging from those legs will never not be iconic. Bag It Up doesn't get nearly the recognition these days that it deserves.

"Any plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls?"
"I don't know, maybe raise a toast?"

Sigh...

Geri Horner Answer: Your Song by Elton John
Ginger Spice Answer: Borderline by Madonna.

Also the taste for saying she'd have "If U Can't Dance" on repeat!

Screamed at the largest fish in the world reference! I can't tell you how often I quote that daily!

This interview was Autumn 2023 in fairness, so every Spice Girls question got a very vague answer about her being "100% committed whatever I'm doing and right now it's Rosie Frost". I suspect her outlook may be somewhat different unless her next book performs significantly better than the last.

The two desperate for it are Mel B and Emma, and it's understandable because the other three have evolved away into other productive careers.

The two of them should launch a podcast and invite celebs on to discuss the impact the girls had on them and maybe they could react to old Spice Girls interview clips and performances etc.

Melanie Chisholm is always up for it these days - the two sticklers seem to be Victoria and Geri.

That’s a really good idea.
