Spider-Man (including Madame Web, Kraven, Venom, Spider-Verse)

Lest we forget when the Frozen 2 documentary revealed that when the film had 8 months until release they were still to animate 70% of the footage.
Yes, there’s a perception things are done sooner rather than later. Elements of Spiderverse were done weeks before the premiere, things you’d expect to be done much earlier. The crunch is sadly part of the job, though it should be avoided if possible. I do wonder why ATS got such flack when Frozen II had just as much issues…

It looks almost fan made from the way none of the lines of dialogue feel like they are from the same movie, but are just chopped up from other films. Acting choices were certainly made on these days. Good lord, it's awful.
Do we know if this is going to link to other Sony-Spider movies?

I wonder what will be worse between this and Kraven?

If the plot leak is accurate (and it certainly has been posted and discussed a lot) this trailer is insanely misleading and doesn't actually reveal a single beat of the real main plot of the movie. I have absolutely no idea how they're going to hide that from future trailers, unless they just reuse the same footage, but it's crazy to me that this is what they're running with.

The non-spoilery answer to your question is that it is connected to previous movies that feature the Spider-Man character and other characters that have interacted with him.

Dakota and the Spider-Women are actually trying to save the unborn Peter Parker from Ezekiel, who has travelled back from the future. Venom/Eddie feature very heavily in this movie, as do Peter's parents. It has been speculated that it's Tom Holland's Peter, making this an MCU-multiverse movie, with him being taken from the Sony Spider-Verse and put into the MCU to save him. So, if it's true, this movie is absolutely key to Peter's MCU origin.

It’s a toss up whether it lands on the right side of ridiculous, but Dakota is a very ‘knowing’ lead, so it just might.

But honestly, this is a more fresh take of where comic movies could be than tracking timelines between 20+ films and television shows or constantly rebooting or overwrought seriousness or…

Looks atrocious

And I can't wait for this mess and Kraven!

Although there probably will be some connections to the MCU, it looks like it'll do its own thing. How tiring is it that almost every MCU movie and tv-show seems to be about setting things up or is inconsequential because of what will happen next? The movies and shows themselves need to deliver more.

It doesn't look bad. The song they kept using in the trailer is demonic though as is the choppy voice editing. Cinematography and action look good. It will flop though.

I'm actually intrigued by the trailer, also knowing the "real" plot of the movie makes me want to watch it. Also Sydney Sweeney as Spider-Woman looks pretty cool!
