Spider-Man (including Madame Web, Kraven, Venom, Spider-Verse)

She was having none of that, but also the way he explained that was terrible. Of course any sentence out of context might sound random. I live for Dakota having zero patience for shit interviews.

The problem with the line is that it's the worst type of connect the dots dialogue to connect plot lines or characters and it's just shit writing. Also, the delivery of it is not great.

In regards to Madame Web, the only part of the promotion that surprises me is how they have not hyped the fact that it features multiple Spider-Women?! Like, this is a huge plot point and could really draw in a lot of attention.

Yes, the actors’ character names have been revealed and if you are a fan, you will know who these are and yes, they have teased a few shots, but really, they should show more and talk about them more. Maybe I am just missing something, but surely it would garner hype for the movie, no?

I know there was script changes but does anyone know if (potentially big spoiler) this still features:

Venom?

I think the reason why they haven't done that is misogyny. Heavy promo for Spiderwoman = SONY HAS GONE WOKE nonsense and after all the hatred The Marvels got, no wonder they're anxious about that promo angle.

Okay, but the way Dakota handled that inane “viral quote” question is lowkey iconic (in fact, lowkey iconic is how I would describe Dakota in general). Another “that’s not the truth” moment. Queen of calling out afwul interviewers on 14 hours of sleep.

There's some confusion over that...

They've apparently removed all mention of Spider-Man because the studio couldn't decide how to actually use him, and this movie is set exclusively in 2003. It was looking like a car crash before, but now they're saying this is totally standalone, with no connection to the Sony Spider-verse. So how the fuck they're working in the baby Peter story, as that's a rather large plot point, is anyone's guess. This is looking set to be a rewrite mess.

So did Tom Hardy film an entire Venom subplot for it to be removed?

Yeah, that I don't know. I'm not sure Hardy was ever actually confirmed for this. Although "Venom" was, is it possible that it was not Hardy's Eddie? Particularly because I'd seen Andrew Garfield mentioned in connection to this more than Holland, and we don't have a Venom from his universe do we?

I'm so ready for this movie.

At this point, I'm expecting a post-credit scene with Morbius, Vulture, Venom, emo Toby Maguire, Emma Stone and Rosemary Harris meeting in a café with Kraven on a rooftop aiming a gun at them, but it's just one of Cassandra's premonitions.

Waif isn't the plot that
the baby is sent to another universe?
Why does time even matter? Who made that rule?
The time period would be significant because it's seemingly set solely in 2003, which means it cannot be Hardy's Venom that appears, as he didn't exist then. And there is seemingly no time jump forward because they've removed all connections to any Spider-verse Spider-Man.

I'm dying to know what the plot of the film will actually be with the hacking they've done to it. Combine that with the fact all the main actors seemed to be under the impression they were about to join the MCU and got switcheroo'd very late in the game, this might be an iconic all-time stinker.

They were silly to think they were entering the MCU when signing onto a Sony produced Marvel movie. Let's be honest, Marvel doesn't want any of these Spider-Man spinoff films near their MCU brand. We got Andrew and Tobey in because people liked them and their films ranged from great to decent. I'd fire my agents for confusing the two though.
