Not really, sadly. Sony has a duty to keep the films coming whether it's trash or not. If they let time pass between uses, it can activate a film rights return to Marvel. Like what happened with Daredevil, time lapsed and Marvel got their characters back.

Sony owns a handful (a large one) of the various Spiderman characters. I’m not sure exactly what constitutes what but using them allows for the deal to stay active enough and keep it from reverting fully back to Marvel. It’s also all they have access to, so why not try and squeeze every last drop out of the Spiderman characters.
