Square Enix

Hate how that's still an Xbox exclusive when many of the other JRPGs MS bought during that era (what a mess that was) eventually got ported. Always been curious to play it.

I remember that also being the (unfortunate) era when a lot of JRPGs were trying to bypass overworlds and just make traveling happen through menus.

What a 180 that took. Now everything is practically mandated to be open world.

I think it's a case of Mistwalker just not pursuing ports. Microsoft basically gave the rights to Alan Wake fully back to Remedy so I imagine it's just never really happened from the Mistwalker side. (Also have to ponder how much that early Xbox deal basically got them established given they weren't playing with Square money anymore in an expensive genre).

Whew, the emotional impact of Chapter 3 in Bravely Default 2. I was not ready for it all.
Also, some of the jobs feel really OP. Dragoon, Vanguard and Spiritmaster are slaying (literally)
My main niggle is that there are so many cool jobs that I want to try them all rather than focus on two or three mastered ones for each character. I have settled on Gloria being my healer, Adelle being my spear wielding damage dealer and Seth being my main damage dealer. I keep switching roles for Elvis though.

There's no reason not to experiment with jobs though, not only is it more fun that way, but also having characters learn a wide variety of skills is only benefitial. I think it's a good idea to get several different jobs to rank 12 with each character, and then their main/secondary one to 15 (I think those were the numbers, been a while since I played the game).

What are the best JP farming spots?
Also, is there a new game plus?

There's a JP farming spot on a beach near the first town in the game. There are definitely videos on it, but it has to do with just chasing all of the enemies so they bunch up next to each other (I think).
Oh i think I've seen things like that on the web. There's also those items you can use to encourage more enemies to appear too? At the moment I'm just killing some of the easier rare monsters over and over.

Yes! It's that exactly. I think I played in summer of 2021 so it's been a while for me too but yeah I'm pretty sure you use one of those items and bunch up the enemies on that beach.

I wonder if there is a chance FF7 Rebirth will shown on Playstation showcase on May 24th. I doubt it as they probably don't want to steal the spotlight from upcoming FF16 but hey, girl can dream. They surely have to start hype train at least after its release if they are still planning to release FF7 "this winter".

I have a heavy suspicion that Rebirth is going to be pushed back to a similar release date as Remake to give XVI space and to allow for them to focus on promotion.

With Square Enix a delay is kinda inevitable but I think it would make sense here.

Oh wow, this makes me wish for a remaster so bad.

What was the last thing about the animated series set in IX as it seems to have gone quiet?
Yeah, I wonder about that too, nothing has been said about that for a while now. Also, I wonder what is up with FF7 Ever Crisis, no word about that either.
