Not sure what to think of this answer... Maybe it simply means the story of the Rebirth is so underatandable that newbies can play it, but parts surely have to be connected... Though I guess this confirms we will level up from scratch again.

I mean, it's not like they'd say "you totally need to play the first game first" and turn away potential players. But I'd imagine it's something like there being a supercut of the Remake story at the start of this game or something along those lines.

Anyway, it's kind of amusing how cryptic/vague these answers have been. They're really making an effort to say something while not really saying anything nn

My guess this is just a hype leading to Game Fest. I will be very surprised if they don't drop a trailer. I would like them to give us at least a window release like February 2024 for example.

By the way, fans have noticed SE uploded Ever Crisis trailer on their YouTube channel a week ago so I guess they will reveal it then as well.

It's SO funny. It's like each one says something like "FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH will have... A STORY"
Hyped killed. I don't like stories in my games.

In all seriousness, it bums me out that I won't be able to get a PS5 this month to play FFXVI. It looks excellent.

I always thought it would be cool if characters cooperated more in battle. Like, imagine Tifa jumping from Cloud's sword to strike enemy or something like that. The mechanic that FF15 had was good.

Do we think all the characters will be playable in this game or? At the very least I imagine we're getting Yuffie, Red XIII and Cait Sith, but sadly I wouldn't be surprised if you can't actually control the non-human party members.

I mean Yuffie and Red XIII have got to be. This being the 2nd game in a trilogy, I really can’t see them holding anyone back until the last part, especially not Cid and Vincent??

By the way, has anyone played Various Daylife? It got fairly meh reviews but I have to admit the whole "cozy life-sim-esque, kinda experimental JRPG to be played in short bursts" thing seems pretty appealing to me, especially when it was made by the same team as the Bravely, Octopath and Triangle games, all of which I love. Debating whether it's worth picking it up on sale nn

I've been playing this these last few days and it's actually quite great. A very fun mix of life-sim/management and turn-based combat with a cool job system. It's super chill and charming too, the vibe is kinda like a mix between Bravely Default and Atelier. Glad I ended up getting it.
