Steps - General Discussion

They've probably exhausted the die hards as it is, putting it on its own at a cheaper price will tempt them to buy it again, I wouldn't buy the 3 format bundle again just to get this.

Oh I meant keeping the bundle plus having the additional signed vinyl separately, to at least give people the option (if they hadn't purchased yet). I'm glad I pre-ordered the bundle!

Has anyone ordered from Chalky's recently? I've had mixed experiences. Got Imelda May's deluxe album that arrived in a card box but then my Birdy CD was in a plastic bag and arrived with the case dunched/bent/damaged. I'm tempted by the standard CD + mini poster!

Mine came the next day (a shock for Chalky’s), the CD and poster came inside some bubble wrap which was inside a Jiffy bag so it was all well packed. After the Kylie delays with bent prints I was pleasantly surprised. For a fiver you can’t go wrong!

While they are on youtube Steve Anderson has set When I Said Goodbye & If You Could Read My Mind/Stomp Studio Tour Versions back to public again on his hearthis account (they were set private shortly after they was uploaded last time) I believe only Tragedy was kept public previously (as well Stop Me From Loving You, Chain Reaction B Side)

Someone download the Stomp mix PLEASE

My version of What The Future Holds: The Definitive Edition looks like this for now:

What The Future Holds
Take Me For A Ride
Clouds
To The Beat Of My Heart
Heartbreak In This City
A Hundred Years of Winter
Wasted Tears
Under My Skin
To The One
Trouble & Love
Something In Your Eyes
The Slightest Touch

Deluxe Bonus Tracks:
High
One Touch
Living In A Lie or Kiss of Life
Hold My Heart

There‘s no songs that I don‘t like outright (except maybe Don‘t You Leave Us Halfway which I find too dull), but for me they went back to the Melodifestivalen well too many times. It‘s the exact opposite of what I want from them. Having said that I‘m still very happy with both parts of the album.

OK. I need help please.

Has anyone ordered this one from Amazon:

What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Signed)

If you look at the track listing it shows two discs, but when you click on other formats it says it’s 1-disc. Which is it?

I ordered the deluxe signed album from Amazon and it is 2 discs in a hardback 'book' format. The inner pages have song lyrics. The first CD is the album. The second CD is acoustic versions and remixes. There is a signed insert, which has different photos to the insert in the HMV exclusive version of the album.

Hope that helps.

I’ve got to say, a lot of the tracks have grown on me immensely - I definitely think it’s a stronger album overall than part 1, although part 1 had better standouts / singles.

A Hundred Years Of Winter is one of my favourite things they’ve ever done. I love that darker edge and the production is stunning. My only gripe is that I wish it had more HRHLSL and Faye and less H but that’s just me being picky.

Trouble and Love is so joyous and playful, I’ve had it on repeat!

Victorious has obvious production issues and doesn’t hit anywhere near as hard as it should but I’m still enjoying it now.

The only song I haven’t come round to is High which is a sound I think they should steer clear of going forward. It’s way too predictable and meandering.

I don’t see it as a logo change, it’s just part of the album artwork and aesthetic of the era, they’ve said that themselves. It works, and the artwork was getting boring with the logo floating above them on every single. Sometimes it was oversized and centred in a way that it hadn’t been. The worst offender has to be the Light Up The World single artwork.

Also, the logo changed quite often back in their original run. They didn’t have the shape around it for the first album’s singles. It changed for Deeper Shade of Blue and When I Said Goodbye, again for Buzz/Stomp, and really only became what it’s been for the last few albums on Gold! It’s definitely iconic, but in a way I’m happy to have something fresh. They’ve already brought it back on the new tour poster / Steptember posts anyway!
