Steps - General Discussion

  1. I ordered the deluxe signed album from Amazon and it is 2 discs in a hardback 'book' format. The inner pages have song lyrics. The first CD is the album. The second CD is acoustic versions and remixes. There is a signed insert, which has different photos to the insert in the HMV exclusive version of the album.

    Hope that helps.

    At a guess I'd say 500.

I'd be very surprised if it was more than 500, at most.

  4. I know people were hesitant about the logo change,

But it was worth it for the giant STEPS lights that follow them everywhere they go.

I mean I still hate it, but luckily the power of Photoshop means I don’t have to see it too much…

As a set piece it does work well I’ll admit.

  6. I’ve got to say, a lot of the tracks have grown on me immensely - I definitely think it’s a stronger album overall than part 1, although part 1 had better standouts / singles.

A Hundred Years Of Winter is one of my favourite things they’ve ever done. I love that darker edge and the production is stunning. My only gripe is that I wish it had more HRHLSL and Faye and less H but that’s just me being picky.

Trouble and Love is so joyous and playful, I’ve had it on repeat!

Victorious has obvious production issues and doesn’t hit anywhere near as hard as it should but I’m still enjoying it now.

The only song I haven’t come round to is High which is a sound I think they should steer clear of going forward. It’s way too predictable and meandering.

  7. I don’t see it as a logo change, it’s just part of the album artwork and aesthetic of the era, they’ve said that themselves. It works, and the artwork was getting boring with the logo floating above them on every single. Sometimes it was oversized and centred in a way that it hadn’t been. The worst offender has to be the Light Up The World single artwork.

Also, the logo changed quite often back in their original run. They didn’t have the shape around it for the first album’s singles. It changed for Deeper Shade of Blue and When I Said Goodbye, again for Buzz/Stomp, and really only became what it’s been for the last few albums on Gold! It’s definitely iconic, but in a way I’m happy to have something fresh. They’ve already brought it back on the new tour poster / Steptember posts anyway!

I’d be happy to have something fresh if it wasn’t so DaFont looking.

  11. Exper*enced and When She Loved Me confirmed x

  12. I have always loved the new logo. I find it rather cool.

  13. I wasn't sure at first but it looks great on the vinyl and picture disc.

  14. Anyone else downloaded their digital tracks from TMstores and noticed this…?

  15. Later today I’m guessing!

It makes me wonder if the reason their Manchester show is no longer available on iplayer is because they’ve made a deal for a digital edition to be bundled with it.

Surely! Or maybe they filmed another couple of tracks using the staging. Not sure if things are filmed for the BBC they'd be able to "sell" them but who knows.

  18. Faye’s mysterious gold sparkly dress might have been for some deluxe content.

  19. If they do something like this it's a shame that my laptop is busted. And I don't think it would download ony phone.

    Still After-party edition sounds fun!

Hurray! But I’m less here for video content than I am for audio…
