Steps - Tears On The Dancefloor

  1. I don't care for Words Are Not Enough or When I Said Goodbye but if I had to choose one I'd go with Words Are Not Enough.

  2. Quite possibly. I just cannot stand I Know Him So Well.
If they knew the plan was to have two/three non PWL invested singles, then PWL should have been working on songs that were more worthy than I Know Him So Well or polishing some unreleased tracks.

Whilst I do have a soft spot for When I Said Goodbye, Since You Took Your Love Away should have been the ballad single from Steptacular.

Then again in a parallel universe their discography was the following:-

    5,6,7,8
    Last Thing On My Mind
    One For Sorrow
    — Step One —
    Heartbeat//Tragedy
    Better Best Forgotten

Love's Got A Hold On My Heart
    Say You'll Be Mine
    — Steptacular —
Deeper Shade Of Blue//Better The Devil You Know
    Movin On
Since You Took Your Love Away//Summer Of Love

    You'll Be Sorry
    — Buzz —
It's The Way You Make Me Feel
    Here & Now//Paradise Lost

    Chain Reaction
    — Gold —
Words Are Not Enough//Baby Don't Dance

    Light Up The World
    — Light Up The World —

    Scared Of The Dark
    Story Of A Heart
    — Tears On A Dancefloor —
    Glitter & Gold

    Dancing With A Broken Heart
    — Crying At The Discotheque EP —
    September Sun
No More Tears On The Dancefloor

  3. Same.

The only good thing about When I Said Goodbye was the video

  4. I love Steps' version of I Know Him So Well, I think its the best version.

I think Pete may have sold EBUL to Sony/Jive by this point, so going forward from the greatest hits, PWL wouldn't have a say in anything. Jive wanted to move away from their productions as well, which is why the 4 new songs on the Greatest Hits weren't done with them.

The "featuring" PWL tracks on the last few singles was their deal with Pete being wrapped up.

  5. In that case, they should have tried to negotiate the last few singles not having a PWL “featuring” or just include a remix on each like One For Sorrow

  6. I'm fine with I know him so well, Too Busy Thinking 'Bout My Baby is the one I don't get. They could have gone with Paradise Lost or Human touch if they were just looking for a elevated b-side.

  7. I didn’t really get either. They were both just songs taken from different Mania’s at the time and they could have easily just chosen Lay All Your Love On Me if they wanted a more uptempo track.

  8. Yes, that would have been better too.

Maybe covers were thought to be more appealing than random deep cuts.

  10. I love this but I’d lose Glitter and Gold and After The Love Has Gone.

  11. I think Only In My Dreams technically was a PWL track was it not? I think Andrew Frampton was still part of the team at that point in time.

  12. I don't know, he was working with Victoria Beckham in 2000/2001, doubt that would have been under the PWL umbrella...?

+ Pete would most likely have had a vanity credit if it were a PWL track.

  13. Honestly don’t get why people hate Only In My Dreams so much. Enough to back up Words Are Not Enough? I know opinions are opinions but damn. It’s not like it’s any different than any of their songs released before Buzz and we all love them. It was a nice throwback to an abandoned sound (a sound they went right back to in 2019).

  14. Saw Faye last night in “Jamie” and she’s simply amazing. Although it’s a smaller part, I’d have loved her to have played the Mum it was nice seeing her do something different. Met her afterwards as well and had a brief chat, she said she’d be seeing a lot more of me next year. Clearly knows I’m a Steps stalker.

  15. Fair point.

  16. That's a myth - I have that direct from PWL

  18. Queen of the tease...

"It's going to be in the same genre as our last album because we're very proud of that one"

Giving us something, but abso-bloody-lutely nothing at the same time!

  19. Bless HRH LSL! I bet she can’t wait to get on that plane again!

  20. Star-Lily already working out how to maximise her Avios/Airmiles
