I like the album. Not sure if I LOVE it yet though. I like the more streamlined take in production but in places I think it lets them down and some songs feel a bit sparse? I’d also liked to have heard some more real instruments rather than mainly computer created sounds. Victorious especially needed some adds strings. the vocals in the chorus of that one needed more work too. They feel too soft.
High is actually my favourite on the album, but I can see why fans here wouldn’t like it.
It’s an album of solid bops but I think a few songs could have been taken more into out and out bangers to match The Slightest Touch and tracks on part 1.

If the best parts of What the Future Holds Part 1 and Part 2 were combined into one pop masterpiece, for me the tracklisting would be:

3. Heartbreak in this City

5. To the One
6. Clouds
7. Take Me For A Ride
8. A Hundred Years of Winter
9. The Slightest Touch
10. Living In a Lie
11. Kiss of Life
12. A Million Years

Yes, controversially I have not included the title track- I have never really clicked with it.

The lows on Parts 1 and 2 for me are Father's Eyes and Trouble & Love

I sort of agree with you on this.. as I'm not feeling most of the album I think from a creative/artistic/legacy point of view, I'd have preferred a deluxe edition of Part 1 with only the best tracks from Part 2, rather than what I personally consider to be quite a weak standalone album.

Having said that, we'd probably all choose different songs from the 10 we've got, and of course I'm grateful they're still going etc.

Maybe it will just take a few more listens. I listened to it on a drive there and I just feel the middle all blends together a little bit?

For me it's too 80s and crosses the line into cheese in places. I prefer the clubbier stuff like What The Future Holds, Happy, To The Beat Of My Heart etc.

It’s Victorious for me. It borders into cheese too much. I know it’s a Melfest song where cheese is what it’s all about but then Something in your Eyes is perfection to me.

I think they could have used the Sunglasses shots a bit more - but I guess the consistent images really makes it clear it's a two part album
