Steps

Album sales are currently so dire (and the industry's last money making hope) the charts company doesn't really care to be honest.

Now if the same stunt was being pulled in 1998 when there were 4-5 big majors fighting for that career-boosting, tour-selling, PR-loving No 1 album there would be a big furore.
I was thinking the same thing when someone said they're surprised the official charts haven't stepped in using the multiple formats to assist with sales but your right singles and albums tend not to be the money makers anymore it's the tours

However it still suprises me of how strict they are for Physical Single formats still. Especially in comparison to Physical Album formats.
You would have thought they would have modified this, in this day and age.

Its been suggested that they might ban it one day... But I think if they were to ban multi-format bundles album sales would be so low that the OCC would be almost irrelevant.

I’ll tell you what I love and admire about Steps - that they absolutely know and appreciate that their fans (especially the hardcore ones) keep them going. The biggest of the thank yous in the CD booklet, the signings etc. And it doesn’t feel like lip service either, they know how lucky they are to be in this position two decades on, and they respect the loyalty.

They really are a great set of people.

Well if the Manics win by 3 copies then we know who to blame x

(before anyone calls me a Karen again, I am only joking)

And... my order shipped!

Steps' latest incentive to achieve some last day sales:

"ORDER THE NEW ALBUM FROM THIS STORE FOR THE CHANCE TO WIN AN AMAZING PRIZE PACK, INCLUDING...

TICKETS FOR YOU AND THREE FRIENDS TO ANY DATE ON STEPS' UK TOUR, PLUS ATTEND THE SOUNDCHECK AND MEET THE BAND! NOT ONLY THAT, BUT YOU'LL ALSO BE PRESENTED WITH A GOLD DISC AWARD FROM WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS PART 1!"

(That album is only certified Silver!)

Wait? I thought this was a JOKE

I live outside the uk but If I buy a CD and have it shipped to a UK address alongside the morning after/after party download, do those downloads count towards the uk charts?

I have my tracking reference for the vinyls but it’s not recognised in the Royal Mail system! Says try again tomorrow.
Do they not realise the importance?!

I can’t even bring to imagine what it’ll be like if they manage to get the Number 1! We’ll all go nuts!!
