Steps

I wish Steps was an interlude act for the Eurovision (being in Liverpool this year) and performed their Platinum Megamix. It won’t happen now but what a visibility it would have given to them. What a missed opportunity.

That Jubilee performance last year had it all and was shaped for the Eurovision.

They're not massive and they're not from Liverpool so no.

Now, Sonia? Yes. A hometown girl AND a ESC legend.
Ok Steps would have been a better choice than Rita Ora!

Then again she can understand a bit of what the Ukrainians have been through so maybe that was a factor in choosing her

In terms of production and stuff, are the songs on the latest tour that they also did on the Party tour (old singles etc) better or worse? I just bought this album and wondered if it was worth getting Party too or just picking the songs on that tour that are not on What The Future Holds.

From top of my head 5,6,7,8 is definitely better. One For Sorrow and Tragedy went harder too (though that might have been because they were new at the time?)
Stripped down It’s The Way You Make Me Feel was nice as well.
Summer Of Love came with a bit of Paradise Lost.

I probably should get a life…

5678 - Better on Party on the Dancefloor
Last Thing - Longer on What The Future Holds, but same mix
One For Sorrow - Better on Party
Heartbeat - Better on Future
Tragedy - Better on Party
Better Best Forgotten - Slightly different mix on Future, medleyed with Last Thing on Party…both fine
Love’s Got a Hold - Same mix on both, but shorter on Party
After the Love - Better on Future (one of the best versions they’ve ever done)
Devil - Better on Future for the genius Vogue rap and overall 90s vibes
Deeper Shade - slightly different mix on Future, overall I prefer the Party version as the “breakdown” in the Future version is ever-so-slightly meh (sorry Steve!)
Summer of Love - Future mix is incredible, but Party mix has Paradise Lost so it’s a tough call…but I’d go Future on this one
Stomp - Same mix on both, both incredible. Party has If You Could Read My Mind intro and slightly better vocals
It’s the Way - The only song where I think the Ultimate Tour version is the best version, but if I had to choose between the two most recent versions, I’d go with Future
Chain Reaction - essentially the same version in both tours, Future has the added drum section which was iconic so I’d probably go with that
Scared - Party version is one of their best tour intros ever, Future has a slightly clubbier beat to it to keep the encore momentum going…I’d go with Party overall though
Neon Blue - better on Party

Been away a while as I stupidly changed my email and then locked the account. But last year was amazing to finally properly meet Steps at the album signing and them getting their 4th decade #1! They really did give us so much with the limits they had last year but to finally have the 25 revisited versions of Deeper Shade of Blue and Summer of Love were a joy. My only wish would have been The Runner to be a single but an inspired choice as they’re called Steps! Also that song literally got me over my ex when I realised that’s all he’ll ever be

I know it was definitely after the album dropped as my disc says July 2001

Wikipedia says 3rd July 2001, I know that’s not the most reliable source

Oh somehow between all Steps sites I forgot to check that??
It's something I guess..
(That's still before the album dropped in the US)
