Stock, Aitken & Waterman

It's interesting that, having worked with others for some of the songs on Rhythm of Love, Let's Get to It ended up a full Stock/Waterman album
I’d always heard/thought she did it more or less as a favour for the two of them whose pipeline looked decidedly unstuffed by that point?

Why oh why the exclusive SDE blu ray audio include
  1. STOCK AITKEN WATERMAN SS Paparazzi (Dave Ford’s Acid Mix)* 4:49
  2. DELAGE I Wanna Shout About It (12″ Mix) 6:46
I want paparazzi on an official standard release !

It's a bit rubbish that bluray disc, far too many common tracks and mixes and then a random two rarities. Does anyone recommend a place to get the 2009 PWE digital Eps as hi-res files please? Qobuz is rather pricey... 9 mixes of SS Paparazzi there.

It’s funny, prior to the podcast my exposure to SAW was limited to Kylie’s first four albums but the 1984-88 episodes really made reevaluate my opinions and perceptions on SAW and associated acts like Dead or Alive, Bananarama and Rick. But all the 89-90 episodes have done (while intensely fascinating and amongst the best episodes of the series) has made me play Black Box ddd

Listened finally to the Sybil episode, where I discovered a SAW single I don’t have, Ole, Ole, Ole! Not a classic and far prefer Hardcore Wow Wow Na Na Uproar, did Mike have anything to say about either track @SmashHitter please?

I also realised I don’t have Sybil’s first two albums, as I didn’t know they existed, one of them remedied now!

I thought Sybil’s first PWL touch point was Phil’s remix of My Love is Guaranteed, I remember Record Mirror making a fuss about it.

Brilliant episode as ever and I would agree Make It Easy On Me is beautiful, played my single to death at the time.

I didn’t have time to ask Mike about either track. But I figured Matt would have more to say given they weren’t “songs” as such.

Yes, you’re right about Sybil. I wasn’t aware of that MARRS-style mix. Proof there’s always another mix! I guess that put them all on each other’s radars and then Don’t Make Me Over solidified the relationship.

Very much enjoyed the latest episode of the A Journey Through podcast. Step Back In Time is very much a landmark Kylie single and of course, her first true foray into the world of Disco as well, a genre she would notably tap into many times over the decades since. It's all personally about the the excellent Harding/Curnow 12" remix for me though, it was great to hear their take on how this came about:

I loved the story of the accidentally deleted vocals on Always Find The Time. It's little nuggets like that which make this podcast so fascinating. I had no idea that two words were missing and it never sounded odd to me, but now that I hear it the line does sound a little odd in terms of its sense. I wonder what Kylie thought when she heard some of her vocals had been cut by mistake!
