Stock, Aitken & Waterman

I don't like the very abrupt intro to the album version either, 7" remix all the way! (plus it has the iconic hu-hu-hurt vocal stuttering part you don't get on the album version)
That has to be my least favourite vocal lock effect of all!

I agree the album version intro is kinda abrupt but I love how it just gets stuck right in, making you sit up and take notice. It’s like a fanfare.

Add me to the single of I Don't Wanna Get Hurt love! Great song all round though, even if Donna herself I believe wasn't too much of a fan.

Still don’t get what happened there. So she was happy enough to record it in the first place… but then didn’t want it to be a single so refused to make a video (maybe it was just the remix she didn’t like?)….. but then agreed to lip synch it on TOTP (which I don’t think she did for the first single)?

I agree, doesn't add up somehow. At least she did some promo for it all the same I suppose.

I’ve said this many times on here but the single mix of I Don’t Wanna just sucks all of the life out of a fantastic song. I also love the way the album version starts at 100%, and not with the usual SAW 5 second drum roll intro.

I agree, the remix sounds a bit ‘wrong’ to my ears, as it omits some of the really satisfying hooks in the original arrangement - I’m waiting for these little melodic pay-offs that never happen, as they’ve been removed!

Don't know if this has been mentioned but Cool Notes This Is A Special Night The Lost PWL Album is available on some of the usual sites for download, not sure for streaming.

'I Don't Want to Get Hurt' is... fine. A little juvenile for Donna in my opinion, but fine. I do think she was right about not being the best second single, the album had at least 3 better choices.

Donna was always right on the money with single choices, 'Oh Billy, Please' was ROBBED.

Unpopular opinion but I think I Don’t Wanna Get Hurt was totally wrong for Donna. It’s a teenagers song so should have been Sonia. Donna was all about belting it out, which Love’s About To Change My Heart captures perfectly for her
