Strictly Come Dancing 2024

Those shows aren't getting the kind of complaints that this one is though...
Are you joking?Just off the top of my head

Love Island the show were duty of care afterwards ended up with deaths of ex contestants. The emotional manipulative of contestants?

Bgt like xfactor scouting contestants to just mock them on stage. The treatment of those auditioning and the way they are treated like cattle on the audition day?

IAC letting the likes of farage on trying to ger ratings and the use of animals on the show?

Then Big Brother, letting contestants spit/ be physically abusive towards each other, be racist towards each other. Providing no after care, letting a contestant on just last year without doing a complete social media background check, then giving her no help afterwards?

By those standards Strictly should be off the air along with those shows then.
You don't think Strictly signs up certain celebs to be mocked on air, or to draw in ratings, or give the right amount of care to the people on the show? And we know that Graziano physically abused Zara, possibly spit on her too.
If you think those other shows need to be taken off the air (and frankly I don't disagree) then so does Strictly. Either way, something needs to be done because this isn't going to go away and no amount of Insta posts of the pros having fun rehearsing will cover the cracks.

This will blow over, the majority of contestants have an incredible experience. The show has removed the allegedly abusive pros and is putting things in place to protect all moving forward.

Something is being done with the stuff they are bringing in, as has been posted back in the thread?

Again a lot of this is Itv and the tabloids bringing up stuff that was reported on years ago? Like it's some kind of new info.

Also there is a difference between the joke act on Strictly who are getting paid thousands to train for a dance they know is being angled as joke i.e an Ed Balls or John Segeant and an act from xfactor and bgt who is an ordinary person, being brought to audition, not vetted probably and was just on to be laughed at thinking they might have had a chance.

I get the impression the issues with some professionals is exactly what it’s like in normally competitions. I bet it’s extremely toxic and borderline abusive, but most of them suck it up for the sake of hard work and “being the best” so for it to bleed into a TV show makes sense.

The Sun are ludicrous though, they’re digging up endless old articles. They’re highlighting old pros like James Jordan, who everybody knew was a dick at the time, and he was booted off. They really have an axe to grind. I always scoff when they take the moral high ground considering their history.

Also The Sun actively target and harass contestants (like Alexandra Burke) when competing on the show. They have no leg to stand on.

Yeah The S*n have absolutely NO right to preach any sort of moral integrity.

I agree about the professionals too. Some of them possibly suffered far worse toxicity at various points, but (however unacceptable it is on any platform) that’s the career they chose, that’s the training they have chosen to endure. No matter how much they may have put up with or suffered, they can’t forgo empathy or basic human kindness because they want their celebrity to win. Not to say others don’t but I feel Johannes is certainly a professional who understands this and really gets what it must be like to have to pull this stuff off after only a few months of training.

First two announced today for the 20th Anniversary series:

Next annoucement is tomorrow on Vernon Kay's Radio 2 show but also saw someone on twitter say one will be announced on the Kiss Breakfast Show? So who know, it used to be so much easier when they would announce when the next name was going to be revealed, but the Show quit Twitter/X last year.

The line up is slightly eh so far.

I'm pleased for Tasha but shocked they have gone for a Love Islander, someone from TOWIE and a man from an advert.

He/Him
Pete going on the show is wild when his best friend and frequent co-worker's long-term partner is literally Zara ddd
