Sugababes - 9th Album

It definitely was my least favourite of the medleys we've had lately. I do think they should have just picked one song for each of these promo spots - do Overload for one, do About You Now on Strictly, etc.

I thought they sounded good and looked excellent but as much as I adore the song, the inclusion of "Freak Like Me" seemed a bit bizzare in this specific setting with the corny dancers and didn't really worked in my opinion. Maybe the overplayed "Push The Button/Overload/About You Now" medley did make some points.

I don’t agree, it went down amazingly especially with the crowd. I’m just gonna say that “Freak Like Me” is just as important as “Overload” (which I felt was clunkier this time around) considering it was the band’s first Number 1 and literally saved their careers. Could they have done “Hole In The Head” in its stead, sure, but I’m happy “Freak…” is continuously being wheeled out and given its flowers (especially considering it’s a cover).

Overall, fantastic performance as usual. However, I can’t wait until they start performing a NEW song instead of legacy medleys.

Why anybody would want them to get rid of About You Know is beyond me. It's not only their biggest-selling single, but a top-tier pop song which absolutely goes off live. The revisionism for anything post-Mutya is wild.

It's just my personal opinion but I dislike the song. It's cheesy and basic in a way Sugababes never were. I also think it sticks out like a sore thumb in their current set list.

It's not revisionism to say their sound did change from AYN onwards. I always liked Amelle so it's nothing against her but they definitely went down a poppier route and personally that wasn't to my taste. However, I'm not realistically expecting them to cut the song as it's obviouly one of their biggest hits.

I'm not surprised by the comments to be honest. I thought it was a great performance but I feel like a show like Strictly in particular, the viewers tend to be harsh and don't appear to be in line with reality. Look at how they treat some of the contestants on that show.

I do think it would've been nice if instead of a medley they just performed one song. Since you know you'll have the ballroom dancers taking over it would make sense to do a ballad. I also wish they'd take more chances with what they perform. It's the end of November...why not do Too Lost In You? Also, The Lost Tapes does exist and I don't see why they act like they can't perform a song from it. Can attract more attention to their new music and if a song is good, it's good. They could've done Today, I'm Alright or Love Me Hard.

They're at the point where they've gotten as much as they can out of the back catalog. Now is the time to start embracing their newer stuff as we hopefully gear up for a new single.

It certainly wasn't their best performance - Siobhan sounded a bit ropey, as did Keisha, but hardly deserving of the vitriol I've seen.

Doesn't Strictly dictate what acts perform anyway? They probably booked Sugababes for the HITS (!!!), but Too Lost In You would have been lovely. Freak Like Me would have been perfect for... the Halloween Show?

Wait, is “Freak Like Me” still played in the UK during the Halloween season or is this a fanssociation because of the word “Freak” and the video?

Bit surprised they didn’t do Round Round with it having a tango inbuilt and it popping off at their live shows, but I liked the medley! Find it weird to pay so much attention to what comments sections are saying when we know that’s not where sensible commentary takes place about literally anything nowadays.

Agreed that Too Lost In You in full would have been a great choice. A lot of people align it with the Christmas season because of Love Actually, and it has a natural icy/winter feel, so I think it would have went down well.

If they were going the medley route Hole In The Head - Round Round - Push The Button would be my preferred choices. Nothing wrong with the performance on Saturday, it just wasn’t very exciting. And I don’t think Overload really worked in the setting.

Too lost in you would have been perfect for Strictly, time of year etc.

Though 3.0 performed it previously on Strictly so expect that might be why it wasn’t performed.

It would be nice if they did a “Stronger” or “Too Lost In You” on one of these TV performances. For nothing more than Siobhan getting to do a soaring ethereal middle 8 to shut people up. (Also: prolonged harmonies). (Alsox2: the fact we are even debating what songs for these prime time TV slots is fucking delicious).

Finally watched the performance and really don’t understand why people got so aggressive about it? If I want to be critical then yes a couple adlibs sounded a bit rough, mostly a bit too loud maybe?

I am biased but trying to look at this performance objectively, I just don’t understand why anyway would need to comment like people do.

Hopefully it’s just the tragic Facebook crowd and they were able to shift some tickets with this anyway.

Oh honey... the internet is the place for miserable people to sit and watch everything and then whine about it, instead of actually doing / watching something they like.

Welcome to the internet.

I work in media and with several social media channels, believe me, I know. I know all too well.

Just surprised this performance is causing that much hate. But yes, I shouldn’t be. If I wouldn’t have to work with Facebook, I would have left it ages ago for this reason.

Still just happy they got what seems to be one of the very few slots to actually perform
In UK television still existing.

I saw someone suggesting they needed a sit down to catch their breath, not understanding the concept of a performance.
