Keisha Buchanan, musician
I’ve learned that I always have to trust God’s divine timing.

Siobhán Donaghy, musician
No matter what we’ve faced as a band, music will always be the thing that connects us in sisterhood and friendship.

Mutya Buena, musician
I have knees as strong as Megan Thee Stallion when it comes to doing a 60-minute set, dipping it low in high heels.

Mutya Buena is one of the most iconic people too ever walk this earth and we should all feel very privileged we get to be alive at the same time as her.

I am still on such a high after their Glastonbury performance. I am incredibly proud of them. Regardless of talent and experience, performing to a huge crowd like that is never easy. The pressure of it all, while trying to remember moves, notes, lyrics, band ques, and staging, is immense. Despite this, they did an amazing job and absolutely smashed it. No one can be 100% pitch-perfect, and nerves inevitably kick in at times. Unlike other pop acts, the Sugababes don't need to prove themselves vocally. I hope Glastonbury has learned from their mistake and will give them the main stage next time. Legends like them clearly need a big arena for people to come and celebrate. I also love the positive attention they're receiving from both the media and the public. It’s heartwarming to see others appreciate what we’ve seen and felt all these years.

I just wonder where they go from here…..

I do agree that it is time to change and refresh the setlist. There are so many tracks they can play with (Especially The Lost Tapes).

I would love to see them perform the JOY remix of PTB at some point. But I can see why they wouldn’t want to with them already doing the garage version of Overload and how much love there is for the original song.

Idk I just really love that version

Why is Keisha on This Morning I wonder? I'm secretly hoping she will do a full series of Strictly later this year so maybe it's to do with that? Wishful thinking I know.

SZA? Blank faces at SZA?

Who steals Wireless every time she plays it and did four nights at The O2 last year?

Admittedly she has had more hits than I thought, but quite a few of those singles are collaborations and the fact that she is popular at London events like Wireless gives you a clue as to the profile of most of her fanbase. She may be popular with the younger and more diverse music fans, but what about the older, whiter music fans that constitute the overwhelming majority of those who go to Glastonbury? My point is about horse for courses, as I doubt that say for example that Coldplay would be that popular at Wireless.

Then they might learn about an artist that's absolutely killing it in her field, one that probably Coldplay themselves love, one that's sold out 4 nights at the O2 with barely any effort and a follow up Hyde Park show to 60,000 people, one that even Stevie Wonder's a stan of, and one that's absolutely conquering streaming? You're making it sound like she's just some niche artist for black music fans only and she's anything but.

There's more than enough white music stodge programmed across the main stages at Glastonbury to keep that side of the festival happy. It's tagline has always been the Festival of Contemporary Arts and maybe more of the older demographic that goes to the festival year on year needs to start learning what Contemporary Artists are actually like.

So you reiterate the fact that she sells out London gigs, but that tells you more about the London demographics rather than her popularity in the wilder world of music fans. And while Glastonbury may feature a wide range of contemporary music, we are talking about headlining the main stages which is a whole different kettle of fish. Main Stage headliners are generally older and/or more established acts. Even in the SZA thread people are saying that she kind of flopped and she wasn't really ready to headline the main stage.

And to prove my point....

"That SZA crowd is one of the lowest I’ve ever seen for a Pyramid Headliner. Wow."

Every few years they have someone who's only got two albums out headline the Pyramid stage (Artic Monkeys' first headline, Mumford & Sons, Stormzy, Billie Eilish). Sometimes it works out, sometimes it feels like it's too early, but I think it's worth risking those kind of sets when the alternative was last year with three more “legacy” acts (fitting that that’s what Arctic Monkeys have now become).

She also instantly sold out arena shows in Manchester, Glasgow, Paris, Dublin, Amsterdam etc etc like any other big pop girl so it's not just London demographics (hmmm) that are fans of her.

Regardless of if the headline set was objectively a smash she is more than worthy of being given a shot, particularly at an event that has the privilege of boosting up one or two names every single year like this without it impacting ticket sales because it sells out in seconds without a lineup even being announced. The festival are trying to balance catering to older festivalgoers with younger festivalgoers, older acts with newer ones and – given who was touring this year – she was a great, suitable booking. The idea that every Pyramid headliner has to have crowds the size of Sunderland also needs to die.
