Sugababes - The Lost Tapes (Deluxe)

If they sign to a label I hope they bring back an edge to their music. I do love the Lost Tapes, however some of the production is a little boring & dated. Hopefully they continue to work with Cameron McVey.

It's official now: 'The God Tapes' is my favorite Sugababes album. I feel like 16 years ago when I was stanning the 'Babes so hard. And not just that, but it's been such a long time since I've actually been excited about music in general. The boppery, the harmonies, the vocals in general... amazing to have them back.

The Lost Tapes
Catfights and Spotlights
... probably Angels with Dirty Faces but a lot of them are about equal to me at this point

What annoys me more is how every single mention of one of them also includes their age. As if that has any significance?

I don't mean it in a bad way but I was thinking about Keisha when this pops up in interviews and they obviously talk about the past and what has happened over the last 22, 23 years that she brings up her age as still being 21, why not embracing getting older? I do know it's meant in a humorous kind of way of course but still a bit cringey sometimes.

As a woman, and specially as a black woman in show business, it must be horrendously hard to always be measured by your age and weight, and not by your actual work and contribution. So it makes sense that talk on dieting and being younger always creeps its way into conversation.

I think she’s just a Mariah Carey fan.

It is a bad way if you're calling it cringey. I don't think she believes she's 21, I think it's just a long running joke she has. She looks good enough for me to believe it!

He/Him
I was only having this conversation last night about ageism and how the media keeps saying their ages like as if it’s a bad thing but at the same time it’s shocking how long they’ve been at this and still in their 30s. It’s like the media can try keep pointing it out but they’re still so young. I find it obnoxious to keep mentioning people’s age trying to put them down. I don’t hold it against Keisha at all trying to dismiss it and saying she feels whatever age.

I would love for some of their new material to be written with Shaznay (now that All Saints seem to be dead in the water again).

I keep listening to this over and imagining the babes on it. It would suit them so well -
