Sugababes

At the end of the day, I just see the facts like this:

the small group of Heidi and Amelle trolls are hell-bent on seeing the Sugababes fail. However, it further threatens and painfully burns them on seeing how much love/respect/ and credibility the original Sugababes are receiving from the media/fans/industry, and general public. And when they see and hear this they result to = 97BB7677-16DB-4F32-AE7A-9281262366D5.gif

And creating their own narrative to make themselves feel better (putting Siobhán down; calling Heidi an original babe; labeling Keisha as a bully; and delusional beliefs in Heidi was the sole purpose in the Sugababes success.

So while it’s annoying and sad, we know the FACTS!

Amelle and Heidi will forever be Sugababes, and the girls have even said this. The only difference is they are not current active members, and original babes are the current members here and beyond (as it was meant to be from the start) . It’s only the trolls tarnishing Heidi and Amelle’s legacy feeling threatened.

I personally can't understand or fathom wanting to do such a thing.

I came into the Sugababes in the lead up to Taller in More Ways right after Push the Button came out. Album dropped, I got hooked. I delved into their past albums and loved it despite the line-up change. Mutya left, Amelle joined. Loved that stuff too. Amelle brought something new and sort of sophisticated and modern to the group whereas Mutya seemed to give the group dynamic a lot of urban sass. Keisha left, Jade came in and I'll admit it - I was never quite taken with Jade. I didn't think her vocals meshed all too well with Heidi and Amelle, but she was a powerhouse vocalist never-the-less and the group dynamic once again changed, and Freedom could have been an interesting start to that era considering I still think of Sweet 7 as a Keisha offering first and foremost (same as Amelle versus Mutya on Taller).

I think all members had good things they offered to each dynamic and I would never sit here and say I thought one of them was any less deserving to the point that I would troll a particular line-up, especially the current one. There is just something classic about the original three and the way their voices melt together on songs. It's unmatched. That doesn't mean that I appreciate the other eras any less, though.

"Open Book" has to be one of their songs that they need to release. Those melodies are melt-in-your-mouth beautiful.
It really is one of their best. The lyrics are so clever.

Side note, I think the current line up would have been expecting some of these comments RE Heidi. They all commented on her contribution during her time in the band so that’s all we need.

Am I interested in Heidi’s views on the 1.0 reforming, yes, however that’s more curiosity than anything else.

The Heidi comments are exhausting because it's like, does Heidi even care? What do people being so hateful think they are to defend? The only thing Heidi is sitting at home stewing is a family dinner.

I can't imagine she gives a toss. I'm sure if there were channels still between the girls and she had wanted to do something they could wheel her out as a surprise to do one Too Lost In You middle 8 at the London show or something. But I think Heidi is (a) happy with her life and has no interest in getting back involved in any way and, more importantly, (b) actually understands better than anyone why this is and should be an exclusively 1.0 thing and they should be left to it to have their moment as a line-up.

Just as the girls are being respectful to Amelle and Heidi and their contributions to the group, I can't imagine those two being anything other than respectful in return. Which basically means leaving them to it, and not getting dragged into a situation where words can be twisted or made into a thing. I'd be surprised if we hear anything from either of them at all for that reason, other than a "I think it's great" one line.

Yeah I’m not enjoying the trolling posts suggesting Siobhan shouldn’t be there because she left after “one song”, I don’t usually do it, but I had to pipe up and point out Siobhans years worth of contribution to the band, including the ground work of getting those demos recorded and getting signed, and then recording a whole album.
This, thank you!
Plus: would Siobhan have left if her depression was taken seriously by their team at the time? She was underage in a environment that played divide and conquer to maximize profits.... All three girls have been the victim of this when they "quit" or were fired.

I suppose the more well known this comeback gets (what with such positive press they’re getting) this was inevitable.

What pisses me off is the dismissiveness of Siobhan’s place in this bands history. It’s HER band, there’d be no ‘Heidi from the Sugababes’ without Siobhan, not to mention being her childhood (and the entire Sugababes vocal catalogue being based on MKS’ harmony).

I’ll say it again, but the subscription that they got successful ‘because of Heidi’ is extremely coded, and I’ve even seen people using the old B word (ending in y) against Keisha on her own page. So… there’s not really been that much progress, it comes with the territory it seems.

Glasto spoke for itself in what really matters.

There is a positive to be taken from this; these emergence of these negative comments is indicative of their presence getting into the consciousness of the general public. They are just a (unfortunate)product of success

I don't think it's all... sweet & amazing. Heidi is still with Crown, and was likely involved with fighting so ardently against Keisha for the name. Up until last year Amelle was still lying that she's been 'approached for different things' and 'something might happen'.

From what I can tell, Jade isn't close to Amelle or Heidi, and had some quite damning things to say about the whole experience (including not being told who she was replacing and the reasons why). I could see Jade empathising more with Keisha than the other two now, honestly - that fucked up her music career as much as it did Keisha's (at the time).

Save for Amelle liking some 'you should be involved!!!' comments around Flowers era, they've all been silent.

What a bizarrely antagonistic comment from a mod for people discussing Sugababes in the... Sugababes... thread?
None of us knows what Amelle, Jade, or Heidi has been up to - let's leave it at that. Focus on the three women actively part of the Sugababes. Conversations about the other women make sense when they are actually...active?

My comment wasn't directed at you but take it as you have.
