Are they allergic to Denial?

I'd LOVE to hear Siobhan sing that divine middle8.
Maybe Siobhan is worried about having to do what Heidi did and sing the entire song (for some reason) in her head voice (except for her actual solo). Which never made sense to me, we didn’t need Heidi on the verses in the live arrangement.

The joy of doing something from another line up is them being able to re-arrange the vocals so they could do it without those particular harmonies if needed.

Considering Heidi was too out of breath to sing her full verse in Get Sexy live, her doing the whole of Denial was very strange!
Maybe Heidi should try and bury the hatchet and get back with Atomic Kitten: I mean, this would certainly generate publicity and media. And it definitely cannot be as worse than having the likes of Michelle Heaton, Zoe Birkett and all the other random singers they have had since Kerry/Jenny.

Wasn’t Heidi actually part of Honeyheadz rather than Atomic Kitten proper? Either way she exited before they even had a single song released, seems like it would be an embarrassing thing for Heidi to do.

Heidi would be great at having her own podcast like Sophie Ellis Baxter. Talking about mum stuff, children , home stuff, decorations, holiday stuff, and whatever else. She could also intervirw different female celebs also about their experiences.

Out of curiousity, what was it about ‘Red Dress’ that she alluded to?

She said that the members agreed to veto "Red Dress" as a single but on the day of the meeting, only Mutya spoke up.

They're allergic to everything not sang by the three of them.

They're always very complimentary about "Too Lost In You," even Siobhan...

There is a kernel of truth to your general point, though. Their old A&R, Darcus Beese, even noted the irony on a podcast recently.

With a few exceptions, they clearly love singing their back catalogue.

Did you not see Mutya's "It's been 84 years!" (Ok, 20 years) comment recently? I think they'd happily do a concert setlist of "Weeds"x18 if they could. But they know the value of the hits and they're professional enough to perform them without their personal feelings colouring the performances.

I'd be happy to see Heidi and Amelle do something at some point.

I think very few Sugababes songs would work well as duo songs. "Ugly" is an exception. It worked quite well at the Julianne Moore as MC performance, if one turns a blind eye blonde, blue eyed Heidi singing about how her eyes and hair ain't the same.

Kerry said that Heidi got into a physical fight with another member. As Natasha wasn't in the band yet, the other member must have been Liz... If they don't care for each other, a "BoyzLife" type project is probably very unlikely. That said, I'd rather hear Heidi sing some Atomic Kitten hits alongside some Sugababes songs in a gig setting rather than Mum/Gran favourites and musical theatre songs.

OK, I want an AtomicBabes tour now you've created the idea.

I think my original comment was more tongue-in-cheek rather than a hope for it to actually come true, but I do agree, that Heidi’s voice and tone wouldn’t sound too out of place on a few Atomic Kitten tracks.

I think from their perspective, they've just returned from a year away with a massive Dallas Austin-penned hit, followed up by another. The new album is selling well, they have crossover appeal, there's heat on them internationally, there's a lot of goodwill behind them and there should be confidence in the band's team to make big swings. But what does the label want to do?

Play it safe and release the Xenomania song.

‘Gotta Be You’ or ‘It Ain’t Easy’ should have been a clear follow up to ‘Ugly’. Both songs were praised (especially ‘It Ain’t Easy’) for being progressive and moving the sounds of the ‘Babes forwards. They would also have gone off in the clubs and really pushed their appeal wider. As great as ‘Red Dress’ was (and still is), it definitely was the safer option.

Red Dress has aged better than the other non-singles on the album (except 2 Hearts but that wouldn't have been a hit) so the right decision was made.

The biggest disappointment to me was Mutya not getting to release Follow Me Home as the beautiful tribute to her daughter it was intended to be. I don't know how she feels about the song now but I'd love to see the girls perform it on a future tour.
