At what point did the group sign with Crown? And at what point did Crown take ownership of Sugababes as an entity? Were they there from the start? Curious as artist and management is such a symbiotic relationship and have always wondered how it morphed into the situation where the group were essentially trapped / controlled / manipulated by an organisation who were meant to work for them? I assume it was the band themselves who originally chose to work with Crown.

I remember it very well, it was an exclusive report from The Sun from the day of the video shoot, behind the scenes, lots of paparazzi shots and there was this infamous behind the scenes video (not sure if it was the entire thing) and obviously they used Keisha's version as the playback, it was a little weird seeing Jade mime to it and strut her stuff less than 48 hours later. I wish I saved it back then.

The body doubles were going to be used in the original video concept. When Keisha left they used to doubles to act out the story instead.
Well I assume the concept, the exact process basically the whole development of the music video was planned way beforehand, like it's usually done. Than the rumors started that Amelle's double doesn't resemble her so there you go.

About A Girl music video would have been one of their greatest music videos ever if executed right. In the end it was a sloppy editing mess + not bothering to get girls that resemble the Sugababes.

The issue with the body double thing was that they were clearly meant to be representing Keisha, Heidi and Jade, otherwise they would've brought someone in who had similar hair to Amelle. They were only meant to be doing the stunts before everything fell apart, so why would you hire a stunt double who has an extra 20 inches of hair than who they're supposedly meant to be doubling for? They did the same thing with the dancers at the T4 performance in November '09.

I still can't to this day picture a Jade, Keisha, and Heidi line up. I wonder what vocally that would have sounded like? Especially since Jade would have had to take Amelle's low tones.

Funny story, on my way to the bathroom during the interval I saw her again I forced myself to go and say hi. I can confirm that she is absolutely fucking radiantly beautiful and so lovely. We chatted for a few minutes and took a picture and then I left her alone before I started rambling about how much I love her.
