Survivor: S45 & 46

Watching for the first time a survivor season as it gets release, ready for the ride.

Lulu is a mess, but I’m living for it. Let’s see how the producers will try to keep Emily as long as possible

What even was this episode with people wanting to quite day one?! Mess! Emily, Brandon and Sifu are annoying as fuck!

I am only halfway thru the first episode but the probably problematic lawyer who lives with his grandma is so fucking hot I am drooling.

Just watched the premiere last night and I'm sorry but I was screaming at Brandon completely flopping the rope ladder, like he couldn't even get a foot on the thing and our poor sister Sean got down there with his dainty wrists trying to be the hero...I love a good first episode flop.

Emily is a perfect villain already, I cannot believe in 2023 there is still a white contestant cornering the other white people and saying the non-white tribe members were going to 'systematically vote them off one by one', the lack of awareness is going to be so compelling.

Sabiyah continuing in the great tradition set by Sue of iconic women truck drivers, she's my early fave.

Finally watched the premier just now - was whelming, but I'm glad there seems to be a lot of people there to really play the game so there is a lot of potential there, even if they're playing way too hard this early.

Katurah, Kendra, and Sabiyah are my immediate favorites.

I need Jake's hands firmly around my throat immediately.

Despite looking like a member of the Westboro Baptist Church i have to say i'm warming to Miss Emily and ha devilish ways. Queen finessed a full seasons arc in 2 episodes. Now... link up with Sabiyah and storm the merge!

I was so relieved when that flop got his marching orders. I couldn't take one more scene of him peering nervously through his curls. The agoraphobic dweeb archetype is so played out at this point. If you're so terrified of the outside then let's get you inside a Fijian airport!

I went to a Survivor viewing party last night and almost the entire current cast was there. It was actually a beautiful moment at the end when everyone cheered for Brandon, and one of the hosts told him to ignore the haters and be proud that he did his best. I then met a lot of the cast - they are all super fun people, and it was interesting to observe who was hanging with who...maybe some spoilers on who would make merge, haha!

I feel a lot of empathy for Brandon - he clearly was in over his head, but he was a huge fan and he was so excited by everything he got to experience. His anxiety and adrenaline took over in those challenges - I'm sure in real life, he's great at puzzles. I know I would fold under the pressure, especially with all the cameras too.

That's interesting, I was under the impression they were not allowed to be around each other until the season had aired.

Hiya Chris, I didn't know you're into Survivor too! Ha!
Good thing we have more than just one thing in common.

I would be so pissed if the other was going home. The right one went home. That person goes down as probably one of the worst contestants ever haha.

They just can't do any media, I think. There was a podcast taping after the episode as well, and they obviously couldn't participate in that either.

I'm really enjoying this season so far and I think a lot of it has to do with the 90 minute episodes. There's so much more space for character insight and nuanced storytelling. I feel like I know these people much better than I normally would two episodes in. I could see the long episodes potentially becoming tedious when the numbers dwindle, but for now - it's really working in it's favor.
