Could it be that the label wouldn't allow it to be classed as another album, can that happen?
TikTok and the Spotify algorithm had me booping to BMF (BMF?) and Scorsese Baby Daddy but I'm not going to let this collection pass me like I, to be honest, let SOS do. Maybe it will all finally click thanks to the additional songs.
Labels can be like 'mm nah don't think so' with any album that's delivered to them, even an artist as large as SZA. Unless you're smart with lawyers at the start, that big advance she'll have got on signing means they're the ones who get to decide if a project is contractually viable or not.

Oh that sounds gorgeous! Do we know when the super deluxe and new mixes is supposed to drop today? I stopped listening to this when we got a new date for the new deluxe but I’m so excited to get back into it.

I believe in her case that it's TDE (Top Dawg) that has the creative control and right to final decisions here. RCA acts more as a distributor and marketing resource - a joint venture/profit share record deal.
This was her plan. But it wasn't accepted by TDE.

Apparently SZA confirmed this isn't from the new songs coming to LANA – just a random snippet she decided to post. The updated mixes and new songs are nowhere to be seen, Punch on Twitter is talking about needing clearance on a sample (for a deluxe that dropped two weeks ago, was already late upon that release date, and whose parent album came out in 2022).

Her label/management seems like a mess doesn’t it?
Don’t expect anything else from this project. If it happens, cool. But chances are very slim.
Well, frankly so does she.
I won’t really argue with that, but I feel like that’s when you need a really good management to take the reins in instances like this. Oh well! I still think she’s a brilliant artist and I love her music.
