Y'all are weird about her. If I look up your username in this thread and see nothing but complaints then what I do think is fair to say is that you have an agenda. Shut up.
Not sure if it’s me you’re telling to “shut up” but I haven’t posted “nothing but complaints”, nor do I have an agenda – she’s consistently one of my most listened to artists. I also think she’s frustrating at times and I’d love to actually hear the finished version of the album. Sorry for posting mild criticism towards an artist on here, I didn’t realise it was against the rules!

If it doesn't appear to apply to you then it doesn't.

Broadly, I take issue with the tone of the posts in the last couple pages. Constantly trying to hold her 'responsible' for every tweet/post she puts out into the world on top of the presumption that she owes us anything is drifting heavily into parasocial. And it's pretty transparent when the same people don't even attempt to contribute to discussion about the actual music we do have!

We've received 38 songs over the last two releases, and the quality of the material across those tracks is remarkably consistent for my money. I personally have respect for SZA as one of the best in the game, so I just find it peculiar when the first label someone wants to put on her is liar.

I do think she's a bit messy and inconsistent on social media, and my solution has been to not engage with her in that way or take her tweets/posts seriously. The music is good and I enjoy it when it comes. At the end of the day, anyone who puts significant faith into what artists (and celebrities in general) say online is only doing themselves a disservice. I feel the same way about Charli, Cardi B, Chappell Roan etc. These people are human, they are flawed, they say things they don't mean and put their foot in their mouth, but they don't "owe" us anything and all you can really do is shrug and move on.

Me, as I prepare a chuck roast earlier:

"I know that dick been good to mee-eee"

"Heard you, fuckin' on the other endddd"

Her one liners are an art form in themselves. God bless her pen.

The thunderous, momentous feeling of impending physical, sensual transcendence Scorsese Baby Daddy puts me in:

The only time I see her tweets is…in this thread. It feels masochistic to know her “social media messiness” annoys you and still choose to follow. Enjoy the music!
This feels a bit… unfair at this point? I was merely sharing her latest post which has gained a lot of traction and sharing my thoughts on it, which happens daily with every artist on this forum. Her social media messiness doesn’t annoy me in general but the missed release dates and unfinished music do – and I don’t think I’m “owed” anything but, in that same vein, are fans not allowed to be frustrated that the album she’s charging £60 for the vinyl of still isn’t finished?

I’m grateful for getting 38 songs over the last two years, yes, as other members have insinuated otherwise, and I am enjoying the music, but I’m merely disappointed the finished album hasn’t arrived despite multiple promises that it would. I should have known it wasn’t coming, and I’ll make sure I never pay any attention to what she says online, nor share any more posts from her.

I have been hammering Lana since I discovered it and it will not release its grip on me. It is an incredible run of songs.

Having said that, I just cannot with the original release and absolutely nothing is grabbing me despite multiple attempts. It's like it's devoid of any hook or melody whereas Lana is jam packed with it. Either way, doesn't bother me as Lana is practically a full length album anyway and I will absolutely take it in all it's stunning glory.

I'm feeling the opposite right now. I was so immersed in SOS but have not been returning to Lana much. Might be a subconscious reaction to the "Oh, it's not finished yet!" drama. I dunno.
