Both projects are exceptional.
I've been thinking about the bug imagery and how it contrasts with the SOS cover. Besides the obvious earth vs. water dichotomy, I think the music on both is informed by a perspective shift. While SOS feels reactive to the pressures of expectations (both personally and as an artist), LANA is more relaxed and feels like an earned peace of mind. SOS works within this spotlight of exposure on her, whereas LANA utilizes bug imagery to convey a sort of adaptive assimilation with the uncertainties of life (letting go of Ctrl, if you will). I'm rambling but I just find the Diana diving board juxtaposed with the intentional camouflaging of the bug in nature imagery really striking as an artistic through line.
