Nobody Gets Me

I've been watching a couple of interviews she did before releasing the album, and you can tell she really felt the pressure before with this album. I imagine there'd be a lot of anxiety that comes with releasing a follow-up to an album that many people consider one of the best of recent years. I hope that she's able to enjoy the moment now that people are responding so well to it.

It's another stunning piece of work. Her pen-game is incredible, the way she taps into her insecurities and the uglier side of her emotions so viscerally is amazing. She's such an important artist in this generation.

This has been a really rough week for me with a lot of feelings of loneliness and abandonment issues, so this album kind of hit me hard and blindsided me with its sensitivity and emotional nakedness. It’s just the emotionally draining-but-cathartic therapy session I needed at the end of this week.

I mean Nobody Gets Me alone?

SZA swerving the sad white girl "fuck me on morphine" brigade's dirge music and instead serving her version of noughties emo pop rock...

Those who had stable childhoods in the 2000s are really missing out!!!

"MISSIN MY DADDY WHEN THE NIGHTS GET COLD!!
WISHIN I DIDN'T WANNA SELL MY SOUL!!"
Sis, the sadgirl future-Lana stans didn't have stable childhoods either we just had the motherfucking taste to stay out of the attachable tail aisle in Hot Topic

Yeah, Nobody Gets Me is a surprising single choice (it seems to be pushed on streaming playlists). I think it’s inoffensive, but it’s not really what we expect from SZA. I would’ve gone with Gone Girl or even Kill Bill. I wonder how the tracks will perform first week.
