Sports car is bop of the year so far but that video is a mess. This song is begging for choreography and please burn the leopard print.
I understand how frustrating it is, but also it is not 2009. An album leaking is ultimately meaningless. Back in the day you heard full albums by buying them on iTunes. Maybe if it leaked and you heard it early you could decide you definitely don’t wanna spend money on it. But Now you can stream the whole album for free. And anyone who actually wants to take the time to look for a leak is someone who will stream your album legally when it’s out anyway.

Starting to loathe how reactive the industry is towards leaks and criticism dd. It’s one thing if it’s a Beyoncé or Lizzo situation and they are correcting their use of an offensive term, but shit like this… if y’all don’t grow up and stand by your work. Casual fans don’t give a shit about leaks.
The way I would consider myself an invested Tate fan but don't care about leaks because I'm too busy and old to try and figure out how to download them anymore.

And honestly with the way fans act these days, a lot of them will actively suppress the leak and avoid talking about it on social media. So all the worry from labels specifically is kinda funny. Like nobody I know who is a Tate fan was even aware the album leaked until she referenced it.
To be fair it wasn't the finished album that leaked as things are obviously unmastered and sound different (Sports car being one of them), so I get it somewhat, but if the most hardcore fans are the ones seeking it out they'll A) buy the album anyway and B) have their faves picked out already to get people to listen to when it officially drops.
Eh, it’s still a really shit thing to happen. I think the way Ariana talked about her leaked material (some of which not even intended for herself) during her Zach Sang interview last year is probably indicative of how most artists feel. It is a violation. Thievery! It shouldn’t derail a project entirely, or even affect a release strategy. But at the same time, I can understand the reflex of wanting to add something new/tweak a tracklist in order to feel like you’re taking back some of the control over the final product.

This would make sense if we weren't already hearing that they were tweaking the album before it leaked nn. Like I feel like we knew these changes were already implemented prior.
She said she wrote bloodonmyhands and Like I Do post-leak. It makes sense that the leak would represent a final album at some point in the process, and I guess we’ll know for sure if Sports Car is missing the outro on the physicals.
There is a growing habit of the girls tweaking adlibs and certain flourishes after turning albums in to meet deadlines for vinyl printing. Tate is guilty herself, with adlibs on Cut My Hair missing from my Think Later vinyl. Supernatural on my eternal sunshine vinyl is also missing adlibs on the final chorus. That kind of thing is very much like…pens down, ladies.

While of course the original "Sports Car" is a slay, I'm also quite enjoying Ethan's Bussy Bop version...
She’s not, there were just two sets of changes dd. Pre-leak, they were swapping Call My Bluff and Better Than I Was on the digital for Means I Care and the Laroi collab. Then after the leak, she recorded and added both bloodonmyhands and Like I Do on top of those changes.
