The rumour I've always heard since 2019 was that she would release some sort of "greatest hits" and later the albums would follow with bonus tracks, new artwork, etc. I think it's quite a clever tactic to release the singles first in a "greatest hits" package. They're the songs which are going to be pulling the most streams and they're the ones that advertisers want for sync licenses. It means they can replace her older popular songs on all the playlists with "Taylor's Version". I'm sure we'll eventually get all of the first six albums re-recorded, which being completely honest, is what I'm really looking forward to. Regardless, I am perched for whatever comes today / tomorrow because this woman has a grip on me like no one else.
I think we'll find out in about two-three hours what is happening more precisely, so I think all we can do is wait and see.

Well, I hope it has good packaging! 1989 had good packaging with the polaroids so I hope it has some never before seen photos or something.

This actually sounds like a very good strategy, a greatest hits for the locals as a way of celebrating Taylors first decade in the music industry and build up hype for the re-recordings, and then later all of the albums for the swifties and other interested music nerds.
To think back to the 1989-era when I stanned that album in secret but wouldn't dare to call myself a swiftie, but fast forward to 2020-2021 and I'm proud to call myself a swiftie eating up everything she throws at us.
