Taylor Swift - 1989 (Taylor's Version) + Re-Recordings

Her debut has the most to gain in a lot of ways because it will be the most different and it feels like it will have the most people experiencing for the first time.

A ‘country’ release earlier in the year followed by a ‘pop’ release late in the year feels sensible with what we have left but the reaction to Speak Now… They could do anything at the moment and it would work.

she/her
Releasing the debut last makes *perfect* sense, I'd be shocked if she does it any other way. Improved vocals, the narrative of ending it where it all began/reclaiming her name, the opportunity to shine a light on what has been her least known and least streamed album, going back to her country roots...it makes sense.

Tim McGraw and Teardrops on my Guitar are still stone-cold classics so I hope they get the acclaim they deserve, not to mention Cold As You, Should've Said No and Mary's Song.

It feel as though she’s unlocking levels of pop superstardom that no one has ever unlocked before. It’s hard to predict what happens next as we’re going into unchartered territory.
I also find it a bit scary lol. Like when you see thousands of people standing outside the stadiums... I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. And it doesn't even feel like this is the peak, it feels like it's slingshotting into it

That 'The Man' graffiti "clock" image shows reputation TV would be followed by 1989 TV and the 'missing' poster reads If found return to Taylor Swift. Which would hint the debut will be the last one after the others have been "returned".

I hope that's correct cos it's truly psychotic of her to plan so far ahead.

I’m actually excited for the debut because it’s essentially going to be a new Taylor album to me besides the singles, and I think that’s the case for a lot of people.

She’s most likely going to beef it up with some heavily updated vault tracks (maybe with some special features/collabs), and that’ll be the enticing part worthy of it being the final rerelease.

My hope (and prediction?) for the self-titled debut is that it comes with an acoustic counterpart. Her rendition of "Teardrops On My Guitar" underscored how great it would be. Actually - an acoustic "hits" compilation alongside the debut would be amazing and something I could see her doing. "Here's my version of my debut self-titled album alongside acoustic versions of some of my favorite songs to celebrate 20 years of music." It writes itself.

We keep talking about Speak Now TV and 1989 TV but... what are our expectations from Reputation TV? Are there any vault tracks that we know of? What are we expecting?

The Jack tracks will probably be pretty identical to the originals if I had to guess, since her voice sounds the same and he will probably put in the care to do a good job with them. The Max/Shellback tracks might be a little watered down if Red TV is any indication, but we shall see.

As for the vault tracks, I wouldn't be surprised if she turned some of those poems she put in the rep magazines into songs. I'm sure they'll sound pretty much at home with the rest of the album if Jack is involved, but I hope we get a couple of Aaron curveballs in there too.

Has she ever directly commented on the Better Than Revenge lyrics? They're not as harsh as Misery Business (though the whole song feels inspired by it) and it's really just the mattress line that's somewhat glaring.

She did in a 2014 interview
"I was 18 when I wrote [“Better Than Revenge.”] That’s the age you are when you think someone can actually take your boyfriend. Then you grow up and realize no one can take someone from you if they don’t want to leave."
