Re: Taylor Swift - Fifth Album

I usually enjoy a few songs on her albums and they're usually not singles so can she just announce the album on the 18th and chuck it out on iTunes 2 weeks later ?

That would be fun!

Re: Taylor Swift - Fifth Album

I just hope she's taken down all of her pictures of Meredith so she has room on her mantle for the scalps she's undoubtedly going to claim.

While I really hope there aren't any features or duets, I could see one with Lorde making the tracklist.

Re: Taylor Swift - Fifth Album

I quite enjoyed her duets on Red, so it wouldn't bother if there's 1 or 2 on this album, just hopefully no more than 3.

By the by, I'm SO ready for this!

Re: Taylor Swift - Fifth Album

Is Taylor now officially a Big Pop Girl™? I feel like she might be.
The second "We Are Never Getting Back Together" dropped she became one of the pop girls. In some ways she's in a lane all by herself.

I can't wait for this. Red was a step in the right direction (her first good/great album, with some of the best songs of recent years), keep the mopiness and writerliness to an absolute minimum this go around and we have a classic on our hands.

What!? NO!? That is what Taylor's known for! I need another song (or 3) in the same vein as 'Enchanted', 'Back to December', 'Begin Again', 'Love Story', 'White Horse', 'State of Grace' and, most importantly, 'All Too Well'!

Re: Taylor Swift - Fifth Album

Yeah I want the opposite of dylanaber's prescription to be honest, although I agree Red was a great album. But 'Fearless' will always be my favorite song/album of hers I imagine.

I'm super in the mood for another Swift album but also not sure at all what to expect from it, apparently being 'tainted' by a producer with such a strong signature working on many of the tracks.

I don't think anyone has anything to worry about. She seems like she's always had a very strong idea about who she is as an artist; something that is rare for artists who seem to straddle genres and audiences in the way that Taylor increasingly has over the years. Even on stage when she's went more for spectacle in the last year, it's not seemed disingenuous. I predict an album full of tracks similar to "State Of Grace", with a few of her seven minute epics and straight up pop tracks thrown in for good measure.

Are Jonathan and RainOnFire ready for their Queen to become properly entrenched in stan culture? I'm prepping my Rihanna/Katy/Gaga/Beyoncé comparisons to flood the thread with as we speak.

Re: Taylor Swift - Fifth Album

Of course she's gonna deliver, it's fucking Taylor Swift. She's a songwriter at heart, and no producer will ever change that.
