I don't think a surprise release would work as well for her. I mean it would still be extremely successful. Country artists still get strong sales from physical sales. Her fans age range I think it a bit bigger too. She has fans that are really young but then middle-aged fans as well. Where as I get the impression Beyonce's is mainly 16-30 year old which works for a surprise itunes release.

I think the surprise release could be digital for a week or so, then get the physical out the next...which could mean even more sales, really. I really think / hope this will be the case.

She would be the only artist right now who wouldn't suffer from a surprise release, I think ... well, maybe Adele too.

Isn't that exactly what Beyoncé did, but then Amazon and Target or some other store refused to sell the album.

I'm picturing "Game of Love" by Santana/Michelle Branch with a harder, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" beat. + mariachi horns.
