I'm not surprised that the album ended up being better than what those singles indicated. Taylor's talent does seem to always win out in some form, even in her worst eras. But those first two singles just make it so hard to summon the energy to listen to the long ass album.

This, this is it. Still. Taking a month off from Lover has given it some strength in my book. Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince for a Grammy performance needs to happen; I feel like the middle-8 would pop off on live television.

If that isn't the case, it's a shame because it's by far the song with most hit potential on the album and I really can picture radio eating it up.

Y’all, Lover just got sent to radio 2 weeks ago. I know I just dragged her for not releasing Cruel Summer during the summer, but it’s too early to have meltdowns about the prospective next single.

I would bet The Man is up next, and I'd expect it in November. Lover hasn't peaked on radio, but it probably has peaked on the Hot 100. I don't think they'lI wait till January to push single #4.

I could see Miss Americana being single #5 and Cruel Summer as #6 if she can keep the album campaign going that long. Honestly, there's no reason she can't. If she's got the airplay support, the budget for big videos, and she commits to promo (and if she's not touring till next summer she's got the time) I could see her making this a long campaign.
