Taylor Swift - Midnights

She's directed 15 music videos now??

Kind of....she's done 5 full fledged videos by herself, and co-directed 4 others. The rest are homemade with home videos or behind the scenes clips

I'm Only Me When I'm With You
The Best Day
Mine (co-directed)
Delicate (Vertical Version)
Me! (co-directed)
You Need to Calm Down (co-directed)
Lover (co-directed)
Christmas Tree Farm
The Man
Cardigan
Cardigan (Cabin in Candlelight Version)
Willow
The Best Day (Taylor's Version)
Anti-Hero
Bejeweled

I do love the All Too Well Short Film behind the scenes video, it's fun seeing her in directing mode

Giving that spot to her, and not to an actual film director (up and coming preferably), considering the current state of film industry, is a choice
I'm curious to know if she feels like she has a genuine chance to be nominated for an Oscar? Part of me thinks she hopes so while the other part of me thinks she may be thinking long term and this whole hype thing about this music video is to just get her name out there for the future. If she ultimately does get ignored, though, it's going to look kind of bad after all of this.

I think she is thinking long term, and I don't get why it would look bad for her if she ends up being ignored this time. She is putting her work out there and trying to make a car for herself as a director, she already said she wants in the future to continue on this line.
I don't find it as different as any musician campaigning for a Grammy even when the chances of getting a nomination, or winning are low. It's part of the job

Seeing how she's done it more in the past few years and watching that behind the scenes video, she does seem genuinely into it. It does sort of feel like a natural extension for her in terms of her artistic expression, even if it is just her own art she's directing.

I’m kind of excited for it. Searchlight is a studio that puts out mid-budget films, it’s going to be an original script, they’re most likely going to make it a theatrical exclusive (things that are basically becoming rarer and rarer these days). And I do think Taylor shows promise behind the camera, she obviously likes it and making her own movies is a much better choice than starring in bad movies from bad directors.

“I have the greatest admiration for her; we had one of the most stimulating and gratifying conversations,” he added. “We have many, many common interests. And her interest in fable and myth and the origins of fairy tale is quite deep.

I gave her a few books that I thought would be interesting for her—among them, very importantly, a book that was useful for me in creating Pan’s Labyrinth called The Science of Fairy Tales, which codifies and talks about fairy tale lore.”
