I think the thing that’s getting me the most right now is how all of this - 40+ songs, a three hour show - is all fan service. People will buy her tickets regardless, they’ll throw their money at her no matter what she does so to put together this comprehensive of a show and to do it at this level is purely for the people that have always shown up for her. She could’ve just done a Midnights tour, thrown in some classics, and still had the highest selling tour. And that would’ve been great, too! But this is just something else entirely. I don’t expect this from other artists I love (and I don’t think another human being is insane enough to do this) but especially after watching that production last night, I feel the love back from her. This very much feels like a history in the making tour, in so many categories. And what a triumphant way to celebrate what have been the biggest last few years of her career to date. This tour being the crown jewel of all of it is wild, to see it all culminated like this.
Also, I know everyone’s talking about her stamina and dedication (as we should be!) but I can’t stop thinking about the dancers, the band, the backup singers, the crew, etc. as well. To do all of that for 3 hours straight…I was exhausted by the end and all I did was watch. Just an absolute masterclass of showmanship all around from everyone involved.
