Taylor Swift - The Eras Tour

I wouldn't drop any of the Lover tracks from the set list. She didn't get to tour that album, The Man was one of its singles (and it has 434 million streams on Spotify alone - it wasn't a bomb by any means). We somehow swerved ME! (which shows how tuned in to her fanbase she is). It's a good showing for that album.

I know some of us hate The Man’s lyrics but all I hear when I listen to that song is a colossal bop. It deserves its place on the set list.

It was almost 3 years ago (which is scary) but when I heard Las Culturistas describe mad woman as Taylor having the same thoughts as The Man but after a couple of glasses of wine, it weirdly made me like both songs more? I'm a Lover truther since day 1 though so I should maybe just keep shtum.

The Man is only 1 song on a behemoth setlist so I'm not too mad at its inclusion. But, if I had to make cuts, that would definitely be one of them.

The setlist will probably change a lot as we go on but I would love the debut to get some flowers. The Taylor's Version I'm anticipating the most is Should've Said No and I feel like she could definitely do something fun with that. I'm still shook from the Should've Said No/Bad Blood mix from Rep Tour.

I don't understand original All Too Well truthers sawry! It's obviously a classic of songwriting which we all worshipped for a decade, but you have to respect that we got a 10 minute version with Mz. Swift trying to convince us she had a FUCK THE PATRIARCHY keychain in *Phaedra Parks* twenty-twelve.

I get that they were the singles but no swifitie is checking for 22, WANEGBT, and Trouble in 2023. She flopped on that one.
It’s weird isn’t it? Like I don’t think anyone would’ve complained had she completely blanked the original singles and done All Too Well, State Of Grace, Come Back… Be Here and/or The Moment I Knew instead.

I'm not even attending this tour but its existence makes me excited.

Also, I swear the Taylor I know would release The Eras album as her 13th album, which would explain the re-recordings being delayed.

People went nuts the singles from the Debut and Speak Now were left out and they weren't even that good.

Yeah, if I could change anything from the setlist I'd have her cut 22 and maybe like Lover or something, and add in another Speak Now song (Sparks Fly or Mean), and a debut cut like Our Song or Teardrops On My Guitar. But again, I feel ridiculous saying that when she's doing a 3 hour show.

Hmm…Trouble is a classique and she skipped it on rep tour so it absolutely deserves its spot on the setlist this time around. I’ll agree about the other Max singles on Red though (especially since We Are Never…has now been performed on all 4 tours she’s done since it was released so it could use a break).

Honestly, the fact that she's not performing a single vault track on this tour feels like a missed opportunity. Unless she does a separate From The Vault tour or something when all the re-recordings have been released.

I was confused at the 22 inclusion but every video I’ve seen the crowd goes absolutely NUTS for it.

Was that a bigger hit than I remember? I know everyone used it to death on their 22nd birthday (as did I) but I don’t remember it feeling like a signature hit, compared to most other tracks (even from Red).

I can imagine she doesn’t have some really strong feelings about the Vault tracks. They’re good and all and she tried to explain it as a “some of these songs were chopped because the record was too long or it didn’t fit” but deep down it’s probably because she didn’t think of them as “worthy” at first place. I’d say I’m also surprised there’s no 3am track (?) as well, but she probably see all of these as Bonus Tracks/Bsides and already had too much with the main albums.

About the Red section; 22 sounds like something that grew overtime, especially because of the birthday motif. “We Are Never…” on the other hand… not sure. Trouble is classic and I feel ambivalent about the extended All Too Well since the original would just work as well, but it is a victory lap so let them have it. I’d prefer having the title track there somewhere or another album track instead of 10 minutes of the same song but it is what it is.
