He/Him
I need this album so bad. That tracklist is insane.
How long until someone claims Catherine Marks produced this dd
Girls I am all here for her working with people other than Jack, and would agree that most of 1989’s vault tracks sound like an extension of Midnights, but this retconning of his work with her is wild. Anti-Hero, Snow On The Beach, You’re On Your Own, Kid, Midnight Rain, Bejeweled…all standouts on the album.

...not really?Post Malone getting a feature…….bit embarrassing no?
I don't think those songs are bad. But they also aren't pushing her into somewhere new or exciting. They are exactly what you expect them to do together. I don't know that Bad Gal TayTay exactly fit her perfectly, but at least Ready For It, Don't Blame Me, and I Did Something Bad were pushing her out of her comfort zone to some extent. Midnight Rain is the same low fi 80's prom theme she and Jack have done a dozen times.
This still doesn’t negate the fact that there’s a lot of treading on old ground, exactly what the 1989 vault tracks show…
Probably should’ve been more specific and just quoted the post that said the best songs on the Midnights weren’t Jack’s. That’s just a pretty baffling opinion to me. I agree the album didn’t re-invent the wheel for her, but it was a shift from Folklore/Evermore and, at worst, sounded like a mixture of sounds explored on 1989/Rep/Lover.I don't think those songs are bad. Post and Taylor have shown each other love on multiple occasions (her telling him that “Better Now” had a great hook and she wished she wrote it backstage at the 2018 BBMAs, then hugging after she beat him for Artist of the Year at the 2019 AMAs) and they are on the same label so it’s not that far fetched that they would want to work together eventually.Post Malone getting a feature…….bit embarrassing no?
Trixie baby I am so sorry.The Trixie Mattel of music. ┬┴┬┴┤ ͜ʖ ͡°) ├┬┴┬┴

I think a lot of the eye rolls come from the 1989 vault tracks sounding less from their alleged time and more from her and Jack’s latest work together. Had those tracks been a bit more true to their originally intended album, perhaps the notion that her current output feeling stagnant wouldn’t as felt by some. I guess I just don’t put that much weight into those five tracks and what they may signal is to come.
